At last I have my surgery date! March 15th!! OMG, thats like just around the corner! I am feeling excited and scared at the same time! They tried to give me March 9th, but that was a bit too scary for me, being the week after next. I almost took it but anxiety got the better of me.

Any suggestions of what i will need in the hospital?

Congrats on getting your date.

Some people take extra comfy clothing. I took a sports bra that clasped in the front.

heating pad, Ipod, magazines, books, gasx strips, are other common things I see on people's lists.

Chapstick for sure... I haven't been there yet, but that is on all the lists I've seen. Good luck. I'm looking forward to going... I hope soon.

Definately chapstick! Your lips will be soooooo dry! loose baggy clothes for comfort and lots of happiness and positivity! Make sure you do alot of walking of the halls, no matter how ouchy you feel, you walk those halls. . . and try to sip the stuff they give you. . . you don't have to finish any of it, but sip abit here and there. . (it's good for you) but walk!!!!!! Can't stress that enough! Oh and did I say WALK! hehehe

Congrats on your date!!

I packed a bag to take to the hospital and never opened it except to get out my rich and creamy Nivea lip stuff. I had my iPod, never used it. Robe and slippers, never left the bag. I was only in 28 hours so never got around to anything.

The one thing that I would have liked would have been pre-moistened face wipes. I wasn't offered a washrag or anything and it would have been so nice to wipe my face a few times.

I just wore my comfy clothes back home. Make sure you have shoes that are easy to slip on to go home.

Congratulations!!!!!!!!!! After reading your posts about worrying whether or not you'd be cleared for surgery, it makes me super happy to hear that you got your date! Looking forward to having you join us on the loser's bench!

I third chapstick, LOL! Maybe make sure whoever takes you home from the hospital brings some kind of liquid to drink. I was SO thirsty when I got out. I took a book and ended up reading about two pages, but I was only there overnight. I took comfy-sized pajama pants and a baggy t-shirt to wear home. The iPod would have come in handy but I had misplaced mine at that point in time!

CONGRATULATIONS, I'm so happy you have your date! I like to keep things to a minimum, I think I brought a comb, lotion and chapstick, a comfy dress to wear home. Good luck!!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
