This is my favorite thread too. I have so many NSV's in my life. At this point I am so happy I did the sleeve. I hope and pray it was a good decision for life. I love when you wake up in the night and discover a bone you forgot you had. It has happened to me with my ribs, my collar bone, and the bones in my forearm. I am waiting for the moment it is my hips. I love that my fat tummy is shrinking inward little by little and that my skin is okay so far.

My funny story the other day was I was getting a massage, which I do not treat myself to quite often. My massages are a bit painful b/c I wait until I'm totally stressed out instead of going as often as I need to. And I think every time I go I'm a bit smaller and the massage gets closer to the bones and it just kinda hurts, a good hurt, but hurts. I let him go as deep as he can. So he was sort of massaging around my ribs and I winced and he asked if it tickled. I was like no it hurts. He said, "did it hurt before in your other massages?" I was like "No, I don't think I had any ribs to massage last time!". We both laughed.

Another kinda funny NSV is that sometimes I have a good day and someone will look at me. I'm like all turning around behind me trying to see what they are looking at. It IS just plain weird, this crazy sleeve thing.

And then yesterday I was at work in an office I don't go to a lot. This big girl just freaked out on me. She was like "AGH! WHAT! Where did you go? Where did it go?" She was just astonished. It was hilarious b/c she was totally in shock and not expecting it.

My husband has a big b-day coming up. I bought a SLEEVELESS hawaiin-ish t-shirt dress that just has small straps. I have not shown my shoulders in a LONG LONG time. It was also probably one of my last Lane Bryant purchases b/c it was a 14/16 and so I have to find somewhere else to shop for the next size down. That was bittersweet b/c it is easy for me to find everything there. But it will be a little while before I'm out of there.

Anyway, I know we all have these moments. It is totally cool, this crazy sleeve thingy. And I am enjoying it so much. I feel like I've shaved a lot of years off my life, and I'm also going back in time to days when I was more comfortable with myself and my body. My only regret is......that I gave away all my small size clothing about 3 years ago. Darn!

Congrats Pumpkin!!

I am finally starting to "feel" the weight loss and it is amazing! Getting into size 10 Levi's this week definitely added a new sense of confidence.

I haven't had one of those big "where did you go" moments but hopefully will soon : ) Most of my life revolves around the same people at work and at my daughter's sports. Hopefully I will run into someone I haven't seen for awhile soon.

Congrats again!!

Congratulations to all of you! You are all doing fabulous! Keep up the great work! I am always blessed to wake up in the morning. . .next is my closet, it's so funny that a few months ago i looked at some of my clothes and said "I have a LONG wait before I can actually fit into these" . . . then one day last week, i said, "I wonder if these fit yet". . well damn if those very tight tight clothes didn't fall right off. . I MISSED THE SIZE!!!! Now if that isn't a NSV, I don't know what is. . .

Today, I had a parent/teacher conference with Caysen's reading teacher. She has not seen me since November/December, and I've dropped another 30-35lb since then.

Anyways, she told me, not only do you look fabulous, you carry yourself so differently now. She also said " you have a sense of peace around you, and you seem softer, not that you were hard before, but you seem more at ease with yourself and you sound happy." Now, this woman knows I had surgery, but we've never discussed my weight or my surgery in depth. She's never really talked to me about my appearance even though we've been working together with Caysen's school stuff since we've been here. So, it was awesome that she was able to sense these changes in me even with minimal face to face contact.

My latest NSV is that my bf spilled chocolate all over my pants. He said I might as well throw them in the wash. So there I sat, in my black lace bikini panties feeling good that my stomach is flat and there was no belly hanging over the bikini panties. No more granny panties for me!

Great NSV moment yesterday. I went to my daughter's graduation, and we all know how those things go--there are a million cars and you have to walk for miles to get from your car to wherever you are supposed to sit...Two months ago, I would have struggled to make the walk at all, and I definitely would have had to wear sneakers with an orthotic insert. Well not only was I able to make the walk easily--I wore some cute normal sandles that I haven't been able to wear for over 2 years because I had too much pain in my feet. WhooHoo!

Had a big (for me) NSV just now. So I got out of the shower, and thought "what the heck, let's see how close my towel is to fitting around me..." And guess what?! IT FIT! It fit all the way around and tucked in without anything showing! (Well, except cleavage lol). This is huge for me because I don't remember EVER being able to do that. And I always wanted to buy the huge bath towels, you know, the really really big ones, just to be able to fit in it. But now I don't have to!!!!! :lol0: Woot!

And Daisy, can't wait til I can go out and buy cute undies! You go girl! :frown1:

Last summer my feet hurt so bad that I wore plastic Birkenstock type shoes in the pool. It was the only way I could stand and move around--even in the Water. I also had to have other people do all the pool maintenance...This may seem like a small victory, but to me it was huge: Todoay, I was able to vacuum my own pool and splash all around the pool playing with my grandson. No shoes! No pain! Just a fun day! These kinds of victories were the reason I chose to have the surgery. I'm amazed that it's only taken 4.5 weeks and 31 pounds to begin experiencing the benefits.

I don't post much in the way of status reports or weight loss etc..but I'm happy to say that I'm finally in "virgin" territory with my weight loss. I am officially now below the lowest weight I had with the lapband and I feel so much better. That weight loss was accomplished with alot of vomiting, pbing and plain starvation, as well as exercise. Since my knee injury I have not been able to really exercise and the weight is still coming off, slower, but it's moving!

I have only one size pants left in the closet to "get into" and then I'll have to start shopping again. These were dream pants I bought two years ago when I thought I'd never wear a pair of pants without the size starting in a "2" (ie, 20, 22, 24, 26, 28). I'm anxious to get the use out of them and then put them in the "too big" pile!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!
