Hey

Im new to his site and Im also in the Dallas area. Dr. Jay did my fill on April 13th and Im up for my second fill on June 19th.

Has anyone had problems losing weight with the first fill? I noticed I only lost weight the first week or so.

I live in North Richland Hills. There is a support dinner Thursday night in Arlington at Mercado Juarez. PM me for the address/directions if you are interested. It starts at 6:30 and everyone is welcome - pre-band, post-band, children, spouses, or those who are just bandcurious.

Hello. I'm in Arlington. I'm in the beginning stages of researching the lap band procedure. I had my first consultation yesterday with Dr. Powell in Richardson. I am registered to attend a seminar in July too. Any suggestions for anything involving the surgery would be greatly appreciated.

That group over there is just the best...Except I kept asking Cribbins where my double cheeseburger was after surgery and dang it I never got that sucker...lol...He has such a great personality

I was banded by Dr. Jay on May 30th, 2006. I have feeling hunger pains and I am fighting the urge to binge. I haven't had any trouble eating yet. My first fill is the first week of July 2006. Help me to understand how the fill will affect my eating patterns. I am diabetic and have to eat about every two hours.

Geez...I wish some of these doctors would spend a little more time explaining the band. The first fill probably will do little to nothing, as far as curbing hunger, restriction, etc. It generally takes at least 2 fills before you feel even moderate restriction. But, having said that, once you achieve good restriction it may be a challenge to eat certain foods (bread, Pasta, rice, red meat, etc). Also, you will not be able to eat very much at each meal - around one cup should fill you up.

Your job is to avoid worthless calories, such as chocolate, ice cream, chips, etc. The band will do most of the work after that.

My husband is Diabetic and has lost from 287 to 213. His meds have been cut in half, then in half again.

We were banded by Dr Adam Smith in Nov/Dec of 2004. I have lost 98 pounds and have about 10 to go before I reach my goal weight.

Good Luck!!!!

Hi all, I was banded by Dr Jayaseelan on May 22, 2006.

I had my surgery at medical city in dallas, but live in corinth. (north of dallas).

Hi MissyC I was banded by Dr. Fox at Medical City on May 19th. We just missed each other:cry . How are things going for you? I live in Allen. Welcome to the Texas Forum. If you look under the Lapband Support forum there is a thread for people banded in May 2006. We kind of keep each other updated on how we are doing.
