Soon to have the sleeve

My story is pretty simple. About 6 years ago I found myself stepping on the scale and weighing 297lbs. I was horrified! Until I married I had never gone over 140lbs, but I had 3 little boys back to back and was on bedrest with each one. I got used to being lazy and obviously gained ALOT of weight. Anyways, I decided I was going to lose some weight before I hit 300lbs, if I could not then I would get gastric bypass, but I did not want to do this yet. I cut back on portions and got more active, after 3 years I had lost about 90lbs. Cut to present day 3 years and another child later (this time a little girl) and I am still right around 210lb.

Knowing that I have stayed this way for 3years and can't seem to move past it I have finally decided to have WLS. At first I thought my only options were the band or GB, then I found this site! (well the old one) I read about the sleeve and people's experiences with it and got interested. I researched for a while before I started posting and asking questions, but in the long run I decided the sleeve was a perfect fit for me. I am now scheduled to have mine June 10th and I am really excited!

I really want to thank each and everyone who answered questions and gave me advice. Those who helped steer me into the right direction, and everyone else who just posted their experience for me to follow! I will keep you all updated!

Thanks for posting that picture. It's adorable. i am so glad you were all there at the same time. That's so great!

You'll feel better really soon. I guess I don't know how lucky I was that I could drink a lot of liquid without pain right from the beginning. I wonder why that is.

I have no idea, I have heard that for most people it is easy. I still can't drink really anything, my tummy cramps right up. I am pretty much living on popcycles right now, I have one every few hours. It is the only thing my tummy wont cramp on, but it is starting to worry me a bit. This is day 5 and I would think by now I could handle other things. I am gonna wait another day and see if it improves and then call Renee again if it has not.

I loved that picture, even though we were all pretty drugged up in it! All the girls agreed I could put it up, we thought it was fun, it was great having them there.

As for pain progress, the only place I still hurt is where the bag was, none of the other incisions hurt at all. However where the bag was is still pretty painful, but hey its only been 5 days and I am a wimp! I am staying with my mom right now so she can deal with the kids while I rest, so that helps! I have great family support!

Update you all soon!

They tell me my recovery was so easy because I have been doing crunches every day for the last 5 years. I get the muscles are strong or something.

I am excited to get back to the gym I miss working out. I am grumpy when I don't get my gym time.

So guess what guys....my sister just set a date for surgery with Dr. Aceves in July!!!! I am so excited for her! (Hopefully she won't mind me posting this) It looks like I will be going back down there with her also, so I will get to visit everyone at the hospital again!

Is she "pampered" like you? :) Think Dr. Aceves can handle it?

(Sorry, just couldn't resist - hope you don't mind)

That's great! Tell her congrats! Is she posting here?

She has to start her own thread on the "Tell Your Story" section. ;o)
