I am craving sushi bad. When I eat it, I order rolls without the rice. I can eat flaky fish right now. I was wondering when people who eat sushi introduced this or tried it again? I was eating sushi like 2x a week at least. I haven't had it in a month and it's hard. I know I can have it again. I was just wondering when people had it. Again I DONT eat the rice so basically is fish an vegis. Any suggestions?

I'm fine with the rice, but the seaweed gets me every time. :(

Good suggestion. When did you start eating sushi again?

If you are on 'regular' food, you should be able to try it. Also..since you are not eating the rice, try the sashimi. That's just the sliced fish. You can cut the fish as small as you like and not worry about the rice or seaweed wrap..which can sometimes make you take too large a piece. If you don't dip the fish into the soy sauce, it's very low in calories and sodium. If you want the soy sauce, cut it with Water and use the low sodium to help minimize the water weight. Enjoy!

I'm going on my 4th month and I can eat about 3-4 pieces and then I'm completely stuffed. Just make sure the roll u pick is moist. I don't do tempura rolls. And do low sodium sauce.

Rice is one of the foods I have not =been able to eat since my 2nd fill almost 3 years ago....so no matter how much I may crave it...one swallow and the craving is quickly replaced with something else....thus forever solving that head hunger issue!

It's that way for many other things also.

Well that sounds slightly horrible. I'm going to stay hopeful that I will be able to tolerate most of my favs. I fail on "diets" and cutting things out. If I didn't, I wouldn't have Needed the surgery. However I am realistic and I do know there may be things I don't tolerate. I just hope it's not forever. The thing with sushi for me is, I take off the rice and seaweed and still get all the same great tastes and my craving is solved and a million x's healthier

Thanks for the help though

I can eat sushi just fine. I could tolerate something like that about two weeks out. After that my ability to tolerate sushi is simply based on my level of restriction.

I love Sushi, but after my last fill a month ago, I feel really uncomfortable eating it. I have to cut them in pieces, even the tiny rolls. I tried to eat one roll, and even though I chew and chew, I felt stuck :(

I'm agree with most others here. Me and rice do not get along and if I do eat sushi it's a very slow process. *chew chew chew* Even then I can only eat a few pieces.

I can eat sushi and usually ask them to be made with brown rice. I make sure I order them with something soft inside like cream cheese or avocado. 3-4 rolls are more than enough and I have to make sure I chew them extra good. Sometimes, I even cheat by cutting the roll in half just to make sure I'm not stuffing my mouth and regret it later.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
