Hi Sylvia, congratulations on this big step. I am in the process of getting my surgery date. It's taken longer than I thought it would but this has given me a chance to learn so much more about the band. This forum is so great for that -- a lot of information here and people are willing to offer support and answer questions about their own experiences. I'm sure True Results will walk you through everything. Take a lot of notes! Best wishes to you......

I have been concerned about insurance as well. Mine requires a BMI of 40. I am a little borderline and have to be creative about this plus keeping weight up when I want to be trying to slim down a bit before surgery. 240s just not fat enough, have to be 250 or it's a no-go. Look forward to getting that stressor over with when I meet with surgeon and that's the weigh-in that the insurance receives. Otherwise my other worries have been alleviated here. Some people have a rocky few days but I am pretty tough and know I can get through that. Walking very important for recovery, to release any trapped wind from the surgery, learning to take small sips, etc. pretty exciting to be beginning this new chapter! Very best wishes to you -- have fun on Friday connecting with the people you will be working with over many months to come. It's not just the surgery, of course, but the important after-care, getting fills just right, etc.

I went to the doctors last week just for a check and she recommended that I get this done and I actually was going to ask her , I didn't even have to. Good news I got a call today that I was not diabetic, and that's a relief cause my family has history of that. My mother has passed . I seen what diabetes can do to ur body.. I'm pretty health but over weight ..

I had mine done at true results in san antonio. I was very pleased with the surgeon and the staff. I am still learning slowly how to eat with the lapband and not screw it up. I am still lost at times. I had my surgery on july 16th and have lost close to 40 lbs. Its going slow but i am pleased. Best decision i ever made. I go in for my third fill on october 21st. I think you will like true Results and the lapband.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
