I use Google as a search engine. I wanted not only a place to learn more about the band, but my priority was a chat room so I can connect real time with other bandsters

I Google searched information on Lap-bands, This was one of the pages that popped up with information on it. I started looking around and never left... I dont think I ever will. I love it here,

Google for me. I'm so glad to have found this site as you guys are my biggest source of support. I've also met some really great people and one of my best friends here. I'll be here for awhile. :)

I Googled as well. The program coordinator at the hospital where I will be banded recommended another site, one hosted by the band manufacturer. I checked it out but it's more of a marketing tool. I like Lapband Talk for the real people who are contributing their experiences, ideas, ups and downs, etc. It's very human and doesn't feel like promotion. And tapping into that collective knowledge base is really something. All in all a compassionate group of people as well. Thanks for your role in making it happen!

Google. I think it would be a good idea to have pamphlets about LBT located at weight loss centers (for example True Results). I've learned more on LBT than I did at TR.

In my pre op class, the nurse stressed what a valuable resource LBT was. I went home, signed up, and I've been hooked ever since. My fill nurse has also referred to the site on several occasions.

Google. There are a few lapband sites for Australians but I wanted one that was big and had a lot of information in it from a diverse group of people.

Hi Everyone,

I learned about this site from my surgeons office. It is by far the best source of information out there.

I have learned so much valuable information from all of you over the past six months. Your knowledge and compassion is admirable.

I was given several websites from my LapBand office. I was on lapband.com until they stopped the my journey section. That is when I decided to come to lapbandtalk to see what it was all about and have been hooked ever since. :D

I wanted more information regarding all aspects of the LB journey. A friend told me she learned the most from LB-forums, so I googled and found this site.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
