My life has changed so much in the last 2 months and I could not be more thankful. I am healthier than I have been in years and I am just beginning. I am active and actually to the point I am starting to crave it. I make better decisions than I have ever in regards to food. This tool hasn't changed my life, it has given me my life back. I have learned discipline and control and on the occasional slip, I refocus, not a week later but the next day. It actually makes me work harder. This is my journey and I am so lucky to have an amazing support system both within this community and by those in my life. I am so excited to see what the next year holds for all of us!

Banded July 12 and have had 3 fills since then. Have not lost any weight since coming off the liquid diet. Matter of fact, I've gained a few pounds. I am eating as much as I was before and hungry every 2 hours. I've resigned to the fact that I dropped 4 grand for a trip to Tijuana and didn't get to go to the beach; I had my lapband put in there.

Couple that with excruciating pain every time I stand up, it's hard to be in a good mood most days.

Good luck to you. I hope you find peace and happiness. Hey, maybe your just going through the stages of loss! Ha, I kill me!

Wow... 3 fills!

I was banded July 17 and go in Monday (sept 9th) for my 2nd fill.

No saline was added during surgery & 1st fill was 3 cc (11cc band).

I have to constantly measure my portions and feel ZERO help from the band. Hit a plateau and would lose & gain the same 5 pounds. Recently increased walking to 30 mins twice a day (7d/wk), reduced carbs & FINALLY have had a wt loss!

Down: 44 lbs heaviest & 33 lbs post-op

THIS IS NOT THE EASY WAY OUT!!!!

Oh and always eat with baby spoons/forks and my portion sizes are 1/2 cup total... ocas splurge is 1 cup!

This is HARD work but I keep telling myself it will only get easier the closer I get to the green zone.

I was banded in monterrey and i lost 16 pounds the first 2 weeks but today i weighed myself and i had gained 2 pounds so i kinda got worried i dont understand i hardly havent eaten anything but vegetables and liquid... Have you talked to anyone about your pain? I get pain every now and then but its very little im 99% pain free so i dont think the pain your describing is normal, also have you thought about another fill? Maybe thats what you need to control the hunger and keep loosing weight

Yes, I have been getting treated for back issues for years. Most recent MRI shows I need surgery. I see the doctor for fills next week. We will see what he has to say. Just keep waiting...which is something I suck at.

I know what you mean i suck at waiting too... And sorry to hear about your back ive heard that back pain can make you miserable ... So is not loosing weight one week normal or are we supposed to loose steadily?

Banded July 18th... 7 weeks today.

Have been to the doc 2xs declining a fill both times.... I have another appointment in a few weeks and I think I'm starting to think I will ask for it, but a VERY small one. Not having problems with appetite at all still (thank goodness) but I am definitely starting to forget how fast I'm eating... I'm full after just a little bit, but I know I shouldn't be able to eat that fast.... guess it's time to take my timer back out lol... anyone else had that problem??? Meaning appetite control, but eating too fast and not having consequences? I am still losing consistently (2lbs a week).... just curious...

I was banded August 27th 2013 but I follow this thread. Love it. Im a week post op and have stalled with weight loss. I am eating like a bird and still staying the same. Ive lost 20 with pre op diet and after. I feel frustrated. But you all make me feel like it is not just me. Is there hope after my first fill?

Striver..you are healing. Normal to not lose weight right away. Ricksgal...I'm in the same place. Never hungry but eats way too fast and can eat more than a cup full. I'm in control and eating healthy. I'm still losing 1 or 2 lbs a week and haven't had a fill yet. I can't decide whether to get my first fill or not. I am 6 weeks post op.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
