My surgery is Oct 4th. I am starting a pr-pre op diet. I am replacing my usual breakfast mcmuffin and hashbrown with a Protein shake and cutting down on carbs. My pre op diet will be 3 weeks 2 protein shakes' date=' one meal of 4-6oz lean protein, a cup of green veggies and a cup of free with all the calorie free drinks, sugar free popsicles and sugar free Jello I want. Starting later I hope maybe I can learn more from what you all learn in your journey's.[/quote']

Good on you for making an early start! Your pre-op diet is the same as mine except I have an extra shake in place of the protein serve.

I have 2 weeks all protein shakes and water based veggies... The first week I can have a small meal (healthy) for dinner - then 2nd week is strict. .. We shall see!!! Starts Monday but I'm going to start Thursday a little day by day...

I start my pre-op diet next Thursday and will be on it for 2 weeks. It will consist of 2 protein shakes for breakfast and lunch and a Lean Cuisine or Healthy Choice for dinner. It has to stay between 800-900 calories per day. I was told this would be the hardest part of the whole process. I hope those two weeks go by FAST!!

I'm not looking forward to that part but i think I'm ready!!! Lol

August.30th for me.I can't wait to.go into all the stores and not.worry that they wont have my size.

Hello everyone! Today is my last required diet meeting for insurance, so hopefully I will be approved shortly for perhaps an August surgery. :)

Oh my goodness bsellis! We have the same birthday and it looks like very similar height and starting weight! Whoa! :)

I hope that you get the go ahead soon! Having a date is let's you set your eyes in the prize!

Hello.. Brand new to the site... I will be having my surgery on August 2nd. My pre-op is today and my two week diet starts tomorrow. I'm extremely nervous and have had a few of my friends give me their opinion on it.. ugh.. If its not nice don't say anything at all.. but I know why i'm doing this.. :) Hopefully we will have support here.

Oh wow! That IS interesting!! I hope you get your surgery scheduled soon!!!

Erica - my surgery is the 5th but I chose to start pre-op diet today rather than Monday... My reasoning behind this (I'm sure I sound crazy) is because I'm going on vacation just 3 days after starting pre-op diet and I hear that's the hardest time to stick to it- I feel like starting today will get me a head start and maybe I'll be more into it when my vacation starts (making it easier to stick to) lol ... So here we go!!! I'm taking pictures today full body all around pics and starting my video diary tonight! I was getting so nervous but now I'm getting psyched! I'm hoping to lose a good 10lbs pre-op!!!

I'm getting banded July 31st. Started my preop diet yesterday!!

I think sometimes people just dwell on the negative unfortunately. We are all on board here so keep your chin up as you are doing it for your health and that is what is important!
