I know this will make me sound weak and pathetic but here it goes. I've been banded for 5 days now and I'm hating this liquid diet. I can't take anymore water' date=' broth, Protein shakes, jello!! I'm always hungry! The broth makes me feel bloated and anything makes my stomach hurt because its so empty. I don't know what to do. I'm on a liquid diet for 3 weeks and I notice I'm constantly in a bad mood. Help or advice please![/quote']

Before you know it you will forget all this. I ate a lot if sf popsicles. I went into this knowing about the all liquids so your insides can heal. Do something that takes your mind off food. You can't eat with wet nail polish on.

Good luck. It will be over soon. My 1 year is the 30th. It has been a great year for me. .

That's amazing! Good for you! I'm also scared when I have to move to solid food. I read scary stories about food getting stuck ALOT and purging and "slimeing". Was it hard for you?

Well just look at it like this. Its only 3 weeks. Every doctor is different but my doctor had me on liquid for the first seven days then I moved to soft foods like grits, cream of wheat, eggs which was good.

Yeah I went through that too...got tired of eating the same thing...what I can tell you is to hang in there...each step is necessary...just keep thinking of that end result your working to get to...you'll do great....this type of eating isn't forever just until you're stomach heals enough for you to start eating regular food again

after being banded the first week I called my surgeon and told him I was getting a little hungry like I needed a little bit more than the liquids and popsicles. He told me to have a scrambled egg real mushy and eat it slow. If I could handle it I could have one a day- it was heaven!!! and FF yogurt. It really helped me.

I just had my surgery on June 26th and was allowed to have soggy Cereal, yogurt, cream of wheat & blended Soups on day 2....and I thought THAT was hard. I hope it's better now for you. I'm now 2 wks out and feeling SO much better.

I was banded January 2013. By day 4 I was allowed cream of wheat, cottage cheese, applesauce etc. things of that consistency. My doctor didn't want my stomach to actually digest, yet didn't want me to starve either. I took it super easy, however, taking small bites and eating slow. Everyone's Dr tells them different. I listened to mine, ate what he told me and I'm fine. I don't think it'd kill ya to have a mushy.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
