Hi Cat, it took me about 3 months to get to a 7 mile jog/run. I have lost quite a bit of weight, prior to my Tummy Tuck (yesterday) I was down to 151lbs. They removed 9lbs of skin on me and 3lbs of fat due to Lipo but I am really swollen now. I hope to be at goal in another month or so.

I want to try and start up running myself, but I know it will be a slow process in the beginning. I used to be very athletic back in the day, and strive to get there again.

Telly - I'd love to get some exercise in but with my incision infection I was told I couldn't even do housework until it heals up. BUT when I am feeling healthy I will gladly take you kicking my butt into gear!

I was banded on 9-6-06. I am walking 2 miles a day and doing a 20 minutes exercise video with a power band. When you start exercising as much as some of you are doing, do you increase your calorie intake or is that self-deafeating?

Definately. If you amp up your workouts and you're doing 1 hour of cardio a day and maybe 1 hour weight training, you should be 1,200 - 1,500 calories per day to feed your energy burning.... in turn strengthening your metabolism.

As a guideline...(example)

If you amp up your workouts and keep your caloric intake the same, you'll lose weight fast but you'll most likely enter into what they call "starvation mode". You can still lose weight moderately taking in the minimum calories up to about 2,000 calories if you run. Marathon runners take in 3k - 5k calories per day. They have to feed their calorie burning and they still lose weight or maintain.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
