For the toe raises, I stand in front of the bar in my kitchen, rest my hands on top of the bar for balance, and then stand up on my tippy toes 100 (or more) times. You have to make sure that you're not using your hands to help you up so that you're only using your calf muscles.

I'm glad to hear that you're doing well on the leg lifts. I'm happy to have helped.

thanks for this tricia. i just did a bunch while on a really boring conference call at work!

Hello All! I was banded 5/2/06. I have been outside walking every day since I started the pre-op diet. I have worked up to doing 3-4 miles most days (on days I don't, I go at least 1 mile - those are my easy days). And today is finally the big day that...

I am going back to the gym!!! I'm headed to the Y to jump on the elliptical and let it kick my ass. I'm excited. Wish me luck!!!

Can't remember if I posted today's plan or not. I have CRS...can't remember sh*t.

Doing two miles on the park trail this evening. I'm going to carry my watch to see how long it takes. Hoping I may have enough energy to tag on the .25 loop to make it 2.25 miles tonight. We shall see...

Everyone's doing an awesome job! All of your posts keep me working even on days when I just don't *feel* like it.

omg i  love  that machine. I did 1 hour on the elliptical (4+ miles), and I'm still hungry for more! Not pushing it though. My brother is going to come over later and show me some arm exercises to do - I have some 2 & 3 lb. weights I'm going to try out.

By the way, do you know you are not supposed to use weights at the same time that you are doing your cardio (i.e. walking w/ hand weights)? They say that the risk of injury outweighs the benefit - better to do them separately.

So anyway, there's my daily exercise & trivia!

OMG!! First time I've read this thread.....you people are amazing!!

Today I did a pretty impressive thing myself........I walked - I walked into the fitness center for the first time!!! I had sat in the parking lot and cried several times, but today - I made it through the door. And I wrote a check. And I bared my soul to the trainer. And I walked 10 whole minutes on the tread mill. Ta-da!!! (then i came home and slept 2 hrs, but things will get better)

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
