Hello everyone, I am new on here, got banded last Friday. I started my period today which makes it 2 weeks too early. ??? Has anyone else had the issue of it coming early? Now is just not a good time. ???£

You've had major surgery and it's the Body it can and does whatever it wants :(

Sorry your dealing with "that" and healing..but I guess being early is better than being LATE :o ...lol

Mine is all screwy too. Never made the band connection.

Mine stopped a couple months after surgery, nothing from march until this weekend, then SURPRISE!!

I skipped a period when I had my banding done. I think it's normal as your body is going through hormonal changes so it could come early or late.

Mine started again after only being gone a week. Wasn't a normal flow but it was annoying enough.. Think I had a full 6 days of it gone.

Doctor told me "annoying but normal and nothing to worry about your body is under stress"

I'm so glad someone brought this up! I've been having a very heavy period since banding eight days ago. Two weeks early. I have pcos so I think the band is going to really help it.

I got mine the day before my surgery and it was super early my doctor told me it was because of the change of my diet and stress.

I get bad cramps during my periods - are you allowed to take anything for it right after being banded? ? :/

I was told to take liquid Tylenol. I tried it today and it helped a lot with the cramps. Don't take any kind of aspirin or ibuprofen because of possible stomach ulcers from being banded.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
