sleeping on my stomach??

Recommended Posts

I'm 3 months after operation. And before I used to sleep on my stomach. Now I can't and I think I'm heeled pretty well but I get such a pain even if I try to sleep on my side.

Can anybody tell me if this happens to them. If not how long did it take you to sleep on your stomach.

Thanks.

Mel

I am a side sleeper and it took me 4 full weeks before I could sleep on my left side and about 2 weeks to sleep on my right. Try placing a pillow under your side before you turn so it's fully supported. Getting a fill might have made the port a bit tender.

I was a stomach sleeper my whole life and spent about 4 weeks post op on my back. I now sleep kind of on my side and kind of on my stomach with a pillow propper under me to keep pressure off the port. It really doesn't "hurt"... it's just like left something hard in the bed (like a hokey puck maybe) and tried to lay down on it. Doesn't hurt anymore - just uncomfortable.

I'm a side and tummy sleeper too. THANKFULLY, I was able to manage sleeping on my slide about 5 nights post-op...and then on my tummy about 7 or 8 nights post-op. I'm just overly cautious when I turn over and stuff.

I was banded on 04/20/2006 and slept on my side the second night out from surgery. The first week to 10 days I wrapped my tummy with an ACE bandage, not too tight, and it gave me the support I needed to sleep any way I wanted. A pillow for propping helped too. Good Luck and Good Sleep.

I didn't realise how "lucky" I have been with this. I have always slept on my belly and the days immediately after surgery when I couldn't were miserable. :cry Now I can again without any problems at all:) ...I am wondering though if there's a chance this might change again as I lose weight (started 375 - 6 weeks later 336 with most weight in belly area) - if the port becomes nearer the surface of the skin:confused: ...hope not...what do you think?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
