I had lap band done last December and I have only lost 20 lbs with it that's including pre op also I am slowly gaining back. I have no motivation at all. My eating habits are not good. I can't seem to get myself back on track and no motivation for exercise. I need a buddy to keep me in track to keep me in check. I feel so depressed. I haven't had a fill in over a month and only upto 5 cc. Help!!!!

Back in the day chat used to be very helpful to motivate me. However, chat isn't what it used to be so you may want to consider some type of local support group. Most weight loss clinics offer support groups and they are a great way to get ideas and to stay accountable. Unfortunately, the band does take a lot of work on your part and constant adjustments/fills are key to early success as well as diet and exercise changes. I've found that the best diets for me are the South Beach or the Atkins because they are very band friendly and Protein heavy. Stick with it but definitely get some support! Good luck.

Call your doctor. You are their walking referral and they want you to succeed. They can get you in for another fill. They know that the band is not a cure all and will support you and help you to succeed.

You should be doing the following:

Journaling or logging your meals

Journaling or logging your exercise

Are you active enough?

Are you doing what you should?

Attending support meeting/groups for lapband

Discussing your concerns with your doctor.

Before going to doctor I write down all my questions and concerns. When he ask if I have any....I tell him to brace himself. Remember, this is your lifestyle change and you have to live with it.

Ditto on Minimi. Call your doctor or at least schedule an appt with your nutritionist. Nutritionists are a great source for those of us who get stuck or slide back into old habits.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
