Would love to here your stories good an bad. So excited to start the process for my weight loss journey. Did all my research an know all I need to know. But very interested on other peoples stories. Wish me luck everyone. My weight currently is 263.5 my BMI is 43.85 :,( I'm only 21 but I've been over weight my whole life it runs in my family sadly. I've done everything an anything I can think of to lose weight because I didn't wanna be put under but after all my fail attempts for the past 8yrs I think the lap band is my only hope for dropping the weight getting healthy an happy. I am not only doing this for myself I am doing this for my son. I'm taking every step I can to make this happen. I won't give up..I am not trying to be skinny being thick is okay with my but I'm more then thick I'm morbidly obese my goal if I am able to get this surgery is 100lbs in a yrs an of course ill keep up with working out an the diet.

best of luck dream.

I have seen success and failure with the band. I plan on being a success. And more than that, I refuse to be a failure. I am down 70 lbs and plan on losing 30 to 40 more.

You will wo great, I am sure.

Thanks you (: I've made my doctor's apt today an very excited for it its in 2 an a half weeks an I'm hopping for the beet but expecting the worse. An even if I'm told I'm not approved ill do everything I can to get approved an if that does work ill save money to pay for it myself. It's definitely worth the money to be happy an healthly for once in my life for myself an my son. Good luck to you as well dear.

You and I started around the same weight and have similar weight loss goals! I am hoping to be a success, but will be a very slow one. I am really struggling to get this weight off, but am not giving up! Good luck with your journey!

Really you are. I'm so nervous if I get approved an go thru with getting banded that it won't work for me at all. I feel like ill be this weight or even more for the rest of my life :( how long have you been banded, an how much have you lost

I was banded 12/6 and have lost 35 pounds. I went through a 2 month plateau where I kept losing and gaining the same 3 pounds. So discouraging...but I'm still trying! I am hoping to do better over the summer when I'll have more time to work out, etc. I'll get there slow but sure!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
