tell me about peanut butter

Recommended Posts

I use Peanut Butter but just put it in yogurt or on apple slices. But I use PB2 which is powdered peanut butter without the fat. It's great in Protein Shakes and yogurt or sprinkled on bananas or apples. you can add Water and make it like peanut butter. It tastes great.

Where do you find PB2? On the internet?

You can also try almond butter. It has great Protein and better fat than Peanut Butter. I alternate, I like them both. I have a whole grain cracker with a little peanut butter at bedtime with my meds and Vitamins.< /p>

IF you like Peanut Butter.....it can be difficult to control portion size, like any other food.

I learned to like a spoon of it mixed in with LF yogurt as a special item now & then.

I prefer the chunky Adams style. No added crap & the little bits of nut remind me to restrain my enthusiasm.

Yeah - Peanut Butter is a controlled substance in my house - LOL! 1T isn't going to satisfy my craving for it, so I'm better leaving it alone. Although, I did pick up some of the PB2 powdered peanut butter, and get 2T for 45 calories. It's really good in Protein shakes and yogurt, but wasn't that great when I mixed it with Water to make actual butter. Maybe I needed to add some Splenda, because it was kind of bitter.

I've been hearing a lot about PB2. Has anyone tried it?

I love it! 2 tbsp has only 45 calories, 1.5g fat, and 7g of Protein...I often mix it in FF Cherry Greek yogurt. YUMMY!

I count it in my daily calories if I am having it and my NUT says it is a healthy snack (good fat). I also limit my intake to 1T at a time. I have never cared for Greek yogurt but if you take 2 packets of splenda, 4 ounces (1/2 cup) of vanilla or plain Greek yogurt and 1T of Peanut Butter it is a great (high protein) snack and is YUMMY (Thanks AJTexas for sharing her recipe)! Otherwise, I sometimes put a T of it in my chocolate Protein shake in the blender.

Yes, aj has us all addicted. When I can find it, I use PB2 in my greek yogurt or reduced fat PB. But PB and yogurt is a daily treat for me.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
