You are probably retaining Fluid. I would suggest not weighing yourself every day because your body will fluctuate. But thats just me. I weigh in every week. I would suggest you do not drink any carbonated drinks ever again. They are not good for your band or your weight loss. Lots of chemicals too.

To be honest with you I have not fully given up Diet soda all together yet. I drink a lot less of it than I did before the band. I have always retained Fluid per and post. Anyway I'm drinking more Water than diet soda.

I have lost weight but only about 2 1/2 lbs per week since Dec.

I used to weigh daily. DON'T DO IT! I weigh myself weekly now. Anyway, I'm gradually weaning from diet soda. So I wish you well!

Well if your getting the band its better you get used to stop drinking soda. I heard it increases the complications of corrosion on the band, not sure if its true but i heard here.

Could be the sodium in the soda causing Water retention. I can put on a few pounds just by sipping ice tea all day! Only diet soda I'll touch is Waist Watchers--sodium free, no aspartame (sp?) sweeter, and a few other advantages over regular diet sodas... but I usually let it go flat and sip it before I drink.

Yea Stay Away, I do not drink soda very often. Hear an interesting thing from my

DR. Every person that later had a weight gain after successful weight loss had something in common, and that was they started to drink soda again. Not to say every banster who drinks soda gains their weight back but all that she has seen had this in common. Now certainly this was not the only factor but might have been a symptomatic of a person going back to their old habit of eating. Regardless was an interesting observation. Also the more I hear about the obesity problem one common thing is Soda, DIET and Regular. Our bodies were not meant to drink this stuff. I am certainly not perfect and am having issues but try to keep away. For yourself, I too can go up 5 lbs in a day and its caused by Carbs, Salt etc. My body just loves to retain Water and carb do it every time. Anyway good luck to you, you seem that you are well on your way.

Quitting diet sodas was almost as hard as quitting smoking but so worth it. Google info on losing weight and diet sodas. They are so bad for weight loss not just for the band.

I was a coke fiend, now do not miss it, stay away from it to many horror stories. Do not think it would be worth the slippage. I drink the coke product Vitamin Zero, it did take me awhile to get used to it but now it is a no brainer. Hugs and good luck.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
