Biotin helps but I'd say my loss was lots thankfully I had thick hair. Keep up the Protein it slows up soon enough. Im

7 months out now and it stopped about 4 weeks ago!

Well.... I have to disagree with the above posts. I don't think it's a lack of protein, or that biotin helps. When I started loosing hair, I went to the dermatoligist. Much to my relief, he said I was not going bald. He said the body goes into kind of a shock after rapid weight loss. I honestly don't remember his detailed explanation, something about the cycle of hair growth. Mine started to fall out about 4 months post op and stopped, and grew back about 3 months later. I know how unsettling it is, but try not to worry. It will stop.

I agree with Veronica. It is not from lack of protein. Your body will go into shock after surgery and weight loss. Any time your body goes through a sudden change, this will happen. I have pernicious anemia and have had it most of my life. I have to take B- 12 shots every month. If my blood count goes down, my hair will start to fall out about three months later. It will continue to fall out for 2-3 months. It always grows back and usually comes back really curly!

Thanks so much, I'm doing as I should, so now I will just wait.

The nutritionist at my doctor's office told me to take Biosil. Although, she also said that hair loss after WLS is inevitable, but the use of Biosil, biotin and PLENTY of protein, could help. So....I'm doing ALL of it, to minimize the loss. I haven't gone through it yet, but I have very fine hair & can't afford to lose ANY of it
