I was banded on the 14th. Did 4 days of Clear Liquids. I'm on day 3 of any liquid. This is so incredibly hard. My kids are asking for cheese puffs and my mid rationalizes that the puffs melt in your mouth. What do I do but just ate a few handfuls melted in my mouth and chews up to a liquid consistency. I am SO hungry. How do I get through this?

I have such sympathy for you bandsters with families. I live alone so there's no one to cook tempting foods for and no one to buy things for that I shouldn't eat. I can't imagine how difficult it is for those of you who have to feed a family while you can only have liquids. All I can tell you is to stay strong and know that it will get better. Once you are on mushies, you are much more satisfied.

You would have felt it if anything got stuck. You are lucky you didn't get into a PB episode.

It is very uncomfortable and being new at this, it freaked me out pretty good.

Just remember that it's not ok to do this anymore. You need to follow your Dr's instructions to a "T" in order to heal properly.

I don't say this to give a guilt trip, just to instill the importance of your Dr's instructions. Your kids will understand that you need to heal. If they don't now, they will when they see you PB for the first time.

A PB is productive burping. Not really vomiting because the food never makes it into the stomach, just kinda sits above the band. It will happen if you don't chew your food completely or wait a minute between swallows. It is a form of regurgitation and not comfortable at all.

As for the hunger, have you been drinking Water and the Protein Shakes? Sip sip sip.... Not too fast!

I would try to get rid of the junk food. The kids will live without it, I promise. :) It's much too tempting to keep junk in the house.

I have always been a very fast drinker. With Water, coffee, any type of drink. I find myself wanting to swig like I'm used to. How many ounces at one time?

Yes, PB is what happens after stuck. When you make it come back up.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
