Discomfort

Recommended Posts

Hi all. So I just had a quick question. Has anyone ever felt discomfort with their band? Long story short, I had a fill a week and a half ago. After fill I couldn't get any solids down. Had a few vomiting spells. I called the doctor. We decided that instead of an unfill I would restart the cycle. Two days liquids. Two days soft mushy. And than try solids again, but this time really focusing on bite size. I never had an issue before this with bite size, but thought they maybe finally got my band to the point it was really working. Now all of a sudden I have a feeling ot tightness around the band. And some slight discomfort. It felt as if I were sucking my stomach in even though I wasn't. And pretty much right where my band is. I have never felt that before, and was wondering if anyone here has?

Thank you all.

Was it gas? With my eating more steamed and raw veggies (broccoli, cabbage) I tend to get bloated with gas more often, which sometimes causes my belly area to hurt. Mine goes away after I get the gas out.

Good luck, as always talk to your doctor .

I don't think its gas. Not feeling gassy at all. it's hard to describe it. Best i can do is say it feels like its being squeezed. Like i'm sucking my stomach in, but i'm not. LOL. if that makes any sense at all. LOL

I had two "stuck" episodes within two days. I had a sensation like you are describing, my doctor explained it was secondary to being "stuck" and my esophagus responded in a way it had never had to contract before and that I might continue to have muscle spasms for up to a month. I didn't have an "un-fill" but went on liquids for a week the mushies for 2 weeks. It took about 3 weeks for it to subside. I required muscle relaxers. Talk to your doctor today, he will have the answers you need. Best of luck and I hope you get comfortable soon.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
