actually no...I am so thankful that a small portion of whatever I eat is enough to satisfy. My knee feels better 32 lbs. down, I look better, and I'm walking a little better. That's worth everything to me. Even when I pass a restaurant that looks interesting, it reminds me of when I stopped smoking and saw others puffing away....just a thing of the past for me now..and no regrets. Don't get me wrong, I eat out...but it's not a priority...just a part of my life. I've just started my weight loss journey so I'm hoping this feeling never goes away.

I don't know about throwing food, but I have wished I could have more of something. I chalk it up to "fat person thinking". Remember this journey is mostly mental.

I'm the other extreme, why bother fixing something nice, I'm only going to be able to eat 1/2 a cup.

not really but it made me smile picturing it (as in the past i probably would not be a heffer if i did throw it across the room)......but sure when i make good food, case in point, made awesome chili and lordy it is soooooo good........and i in my head know i want to eat like 2 or 3 bowls but i cant.....the band/plication wont let me and if i did go over my allottment, i would be very uncomfortable......

Im with Terry. I actually have to remind myself that I have a family to feed.

I dont like putting in so much effort if its just for me since i know i will only eat 10 bites an be done.

Luckily I don't have this problem.. When its something I really like and know (at one point) could have completely devoured.. I measure or weigh my servings and then put it away.

I am excited at the thought that now when I make my favourite food, instead of devouring three or four servings at a time mindlessly and hardly tasting it, I will now be able to have it for lunch or dinner the next few days and enjoy it every time!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
