Yup, was a lot more severe at beginning, much better now (3months banded). It's my sign that I should put my fork down.

Yep. If I over eat only once it hits its too Late. Have been miserable before. Drinking with a meal makes it worse.

So this is not your "full sign" is only hits when you've eaten too much?

What is your full sign (if any)?

I actually will either start to feel full or get an "un-comfortableness" like something is about get stuck. If I listen and actually stop eating I'm usually ok. If I take one too many bites usually it will come back up. I am very right right now though. You have to get to that green zone and learn to listen to it. I've listened and not listened too many times to count. It's a big big big learning process and were all different. Hiccups are a sign too that your either too full or something's near getting stuck.

If I eat just one bite too much, my left shoulder hurts. I don't like to hurt so I am trying to pay close attention to my "fullness"

I am almost 2 years post band. That shoulder pain is going away. It was alway a tool to help me "put the fork down".

I kind of miss it.

I had this but it had nothing to do with overeating. They said it had to do with a nerve. I've been banded for over 6 years and have this problem every time I try to get a fill. Unfortunately, it doesn't go away until I remove the fill. Therefore, I am "fill free" in my band!

Yes it is due to a nerve but is stimulated when certain abdominal organs are manipulated with or damaged. You can have left shoulder pain called "referred pain" when the liver is injured. I had left shoulder pain severely when I had a c section with my son and they flipped my uterus out to sew it up afterwards. I have left shoulder pain when I over eat with the band. All pain is stimulated with nerves. It's how we feel. Nerves are connected to various parts of the body from the central nervous system and what effects one part of the body can cause pain on a completely different part.

Mine is the vagus nerve, some have this problem with lap-band.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
