The Lap Band Is a Silent Speaker!! Learn to Listen!!

Recommended Posts

The Lap Band is a Silent Speaker, Its You Who Must Learn to Listen!!

My Lap Band Tells Me When I am Full, ( I Feel Sick) When I Eat Too Fast, (My food Gets Stuck), When I Loose Too Fast, ( My Port Sticks Out), When I Eat The Wrong Foods,(I Get Major Gas), When I Don't Drink Enough Water, ( I Slim Quick), When I Don't Get Enough Protein, ( I Feel Weak), When I Have a Female Moment, Monthly or Emotionally, (I Tighten Up to The Point, I Can't Eat). When I am Not Loosing, (I Need a Fill)!

The Lap Band Does Speak, The Question is Do You Listen???

Love You Happy Sunday!!

That is a great statement. So helpful for us pre-banders that don't have a clue.

I didn't have a clue why I slime too much, now I realize those are the days I'm not drinking enough. Thank you for helping me know what to listen for and what it means.

And THAT...is what this WLS is all about....it's about the Band....

All too often I read through all the posts here on this forum, and all I read is about controlling hunger, getting back on track, falling off the wagon, counting calories, measuring portions, keeping food journal, etc, etc....all good things in their own merit...

But if I did not know any better, this website can easily be interpreted for a Weight Watchers website, or any other diet support group....I've been on 100's of diets and they all say the same thing....

Sometimes you can't recognize this as a website for people who have undergone WLS, as opposed to other weight loss programs....

Granted, in the beginning before the band is properly adjusted and performing as it was designed, that is all you can do....took me 4-5 months!

I did not need a band wrapped around my upper stomach so I can do all that again....I needed the WLS because I have/had a serious FOOD ADDICTION...and no diet was going to stop me from eating 24/7....out of control....large pizza's at a single sitting, all by myself, as one example, ......but the band did!!!

Sometimes I just want to scream...WHAT ABOUT THE BAND!!!...this thing MUST do something why else would so many people devote so much time and $$ to have it done??

What people should be asking is whether or not the band is doing (speaking) what you have stated, and if not, WHY?

I too have a food addiction and have been struggling with losing weight since I got banded. I was banded Jan 4 of this year and I have only had one fill. I still have problems with chiding the right foods and I'm still hungry. I can't wait until my band is where it needs to be and I have more help from it.

I copied what you wrote and added it to my notes on my iPhone. I will read it often. I don't have a date yet but everything made sense to me.

I totally get what you're saying. I was banded November, going for my 2nd fill next week, hope it gets me closer to where I need to be. I eat my Protein first, I eat the amount I'm supposed to eat, I follow all the rules, I drink plenty..and I'm still hungry. Not hungry like before I was banded, but hungry nonetheless.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
