March 2013 Surgery Dates?

Recommended Posts

I have a question my surgery is March 14th and I have a hair appointment on Friday March 22nd (8 days after) shampooing after she colors my hair is what I'm not so sure about but will I be feeling up too laying back for her to Shampoo? Just wondering because I wanna make sure I canx my appointment sooner then later? Let me know what you guys who have been banded think

You should be fine, I had mine done on day 6 and had no problems. :)

Laying back has not been the problem for me it is the leaning forward. I cannot imagine a shampoo not being relaxing it may do you some good. And you will feel more confident too to go along with the band that is going to help you to loose the weight that you want. Good luck was banded on 3/8/13.

Congrats! Sounds good so far, just keep moving and drinking that water!

I am just 9 days away! This is the slowest roller coaster hill ever, but it's exciting still!

The breathing tube they insert for the surgery. I am guessing. Some people experience some discomfort from it.

yep i got just a little cough n sore throat from it but fine after first day. day 3 post-op n according to my WW digital scale says I'm down 9 lbs.!! HOLY S&%!!! Does that sound right??? Ready to drink my first Premier Protein drink for breakfast. yum yum :( thanks

Thats awesome....I feel like I've gained because of the IV fluids!

I'm waiting to go home today. Doing good some shoulder discomfort from gas and of course abdominal discomfort from the surgery but nothing I've had to take medicine for. I've been up and walking a few times.

Yaaaay to us!

Am I the only one who has had post-surgery complications? I tried to find the post-surgery thread but it appears to have disappeared!!!

I ended up being re-hospitalized five days after my surgery because I had paralytic ileus - essentially my intestines just stopped moving entirely and nothing - including gas - could go anywhere. It was extremely painful. I was in hospital for four days.

Now I am back home but I am having trouble with the incision over my port - it came partially open when they took the staples out and while it is not open all the way to the port (i.e. it is partially healed) it is an ugly mess. I have to go to the clinic every day to have my bandages changed and for it to be irrigated and checked, and it's going to heal into a massive, massive scar. One of the surgeons from the team who treated me reassured me that they could "revise" the scar later and right now we have to focus on saving the port - which of course makes sense - but after having so many complications it's hard not to be discouraged.

I am on antibiotics for the open incision. At least I have not have any trouble swallowing at all. I am at the pureed foods stage and have had yogurt, cottage cheese, oatmeal, and pureed sphagetti sauce (with meat in it) no problem. My stomach is so happy to have real food in it again! For lunch today I'm going to try scrambled eggs and for supper mashed potatoes with some pureed apple pork. I'm eating under 1000 calories a day and not having any trouble sticking with those portions - I already have 3 ml in my band.

From when I started the pre-surgery diet I am down 20 lbs, 2 pants sizes, and my BMI is down almost 4 points. So it's working. But no more complications, please!!!

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
