small band vs big band?

I've seen on this site that there are two types of bands - one that holds more saline(14cc?) and one that holds less (10cc?)

Who decides which one you get?

Your doctor will decide. There are 2 different manufacturer of the band and several sizes. The 2 sizes you listed are made by Allergen.

My doc decided I receive the smallest of the two. He said he chooses the type depending on your body type. I have a smaller waist so the 10 cc was his choice for me.

Thank you!

no idea..i did ask my dr what band of band he used (he prefers the allergen) so that is one i have placed on my tummy. its a 14cc. never thought to ask him why he chose that size

i also have the 14cc. I thought for sure i would get the smaller one.. but nope... Now my friend that had surg. the same day and who was twice my size got the smaller one.... It all depends on how things fits once he/she gets inside.

I was told it depended on how much fat around the opening to the stomach...one size does not fit all.
