  2. Did anyone postpone their Lap Band surgery after they went through everything (testing, pre op diet, etc) to try a healthy eating lifestyle (diet lol) one last time?

  9. Okay this is a dumb question. Everyone is mentioning using the heating pad. I bought one for the surgery. Now, where do I put it? LOL
  10. I'm not diabetic but even the lapband.com website says 800-1200 calories. I'm going to call the office today. I just don't think 450 calories is right.

  12. Yes. I have all of the complete information I need for MY pre op. I am asking what OTHER people were required out of curiousity.
  13. I am supposed to have 3 shakes which equals 450 calories of the protein powder they sold me and my BMI is 51. I've just finished day 1 and while I'm fine today, I don't know that I can last 2 weeks. 450 calories seems excessively low.
  14. How many calories were you advised to stick to during your pre op diet? Thanks!
  15. More importantly, how much did you lose in pre op? LOL jk....

  17. She asked me a ton of questions and then made m get a full blood panel. Most of the doctors overlapped in what they did. Such a waste of time and insurance money, if you ask me..
  18. I'm from NY so I was watching the news the day this happened.... I was absolutely mortified for this woman. Come to find out she is my age and around my weight!! The newscaster actually said she is "somewhat of a large person" and I texted my friend about it. Really sad!!

  20. I know someone that wore ankle weights and long pants - seriously!
  21. Thanks everyone. I realize everyone is here to help. I was hoping someone that had had LB with a small toddler could offer any advice. Thankfully I have his sitter, my mom and his dad helping for a full 7 days after surgery but I am going to resume much of his care after that. I had him Via c-section so I'm no stranger to stomach pain while taking care of a baby. I'm also concerned with the mindless eating that comes along with taking care of a baby. He grazes much of the day and what he doesn't eat I tend to automatically put in my mouth. Before I joined the site I was confident this was going to work, but reading about people that haven't lost a pound has totally scared me! I realize its in their power to change that but it still scares me.
