January 2013 Bandsters Unite

Happy New Year from Germany! To those like me who have January 2013 dates to be banded...my prayers to you for a successful surgery and a new YOU!

For those waiting on approvals or just to make up your mind...YOU WILL GET THERE...JUST HOLD ON. I have patience, but truly learned patience waiting on those little green people at the insurance company to say YES!

Speak positive, stay positive, be positive. If you know God...PRAY. He will see each of you thru this journey. I've read many posts and I have laughed, cried, gotten mad, sympatized and rejoiced with many of you through your expressions on LBT. And you have encouraged me to continue to move forward toward my goal.

Success in 2013 to each of you.

:-)

15 pounds is great! Remember to praise yourself for even the small success you have made :)

How yall doing?

Me: not the best :/ banded 1/25 and down 15 lbs since surgery. I have 4.5 ccs in and am hungry quite often so then i eat too much. And i probably could be making better use of my calorie intake.

I go in for another fill tomorrow. And i havent really lost any weight since last appt 2 weeks ago. (Although im on my period and may be retaining Water?) i dunno for some reason im just kinda down

Try to focus on Protein, this will help you to cell fuller and less hungry. Drink lots of water though the day. Don't feel down, we are all a work in progress!

I am just checking in two months out and down 19 pounds. Also over three weeks no smoking. I am so glad I did this.

Hi y'all. I was banded January 2nd n I'm down 30 lbs. I've been consistently loosing about 1 1/2 pounds a week but I did go through a plateau for about 3 or 4 weeks. Feeling great! I've been tracking all my calories (or most) on my fitness pal n working out about 3-5 Times a week. How are you doing out there??

7 weeks post op and down 25 pounds. Going in for 2nd fill in the morning.

Sounds like you guys are doing well. I'm doing so-so. The weight is coming off fine...39 lbs since the first of the year, but my knee is still giving me alot of trouble. I know of other bandsters with knee issues that are walking with almost no pain, or have given up the cane and I'm just not there yet. It's better, but I still need the cane and I'm still taking shots for pain. I am trying to be patient and I tell myself it didn't get this way overnight and it won't get better overnight either but I must admit I was hoping for more improvement at this point. I'll just have to focus on the little improvements and hope that it gets better down the road.

Hi everyone,

I was banded on 1/24/13. Down 28 lbs, but this week I've been starving! Don't know why. I've only had one fill (3cc's) so far. I can't wait for my next fill on April 1.

Also, I'm having a burning/stinging pain around my port. Any thoughts?

I was banded 1/11 and I'm down 36 lbs. I've had the burning and stinging around my port also, texas gal.. I got a fill last Thursday 3/14 and it took my Dr a few trys to get the needle in the right spot, so I was thinking maybe that's why I'm having the burning/ stinging pain. Any other thoughts?

Did you just get a fill or something? Is it red? Did you do something to possibly tear it or bother it? I had that 3 weeks post op when I bent down to pick something up and I was wearing jeans that were snug at the time, and my fat roll kind rolled over the top of the jeans, and my port along with it, and I had burning pain in my port for like a week. Needless to say, I am VERY careful at bending down now lol!

I had my first fill three weeks ago. I went back to the gym 2 weeks ago, so I don't know if that might be causing the discomfort around my port area.

Hello all I haven't posted in here in a min. I'm really doing great. I was banded on Jan 21 2013 and have since lost 38 pounds. I'm working out 5 days a week, and I feel great. I also had two fills since being banded. My last fill was on tuesday. I will give it time to see if it helps. But all in all I'm happy. How is everyone else doing.

Great job ladybabie. Good for you. I was banded on January 14th and I weigh in every Sunday. I hit a pretty big number today. Down a total of 40 lbs. I have very bad arthritis in my knee so I can't move around too well but I joined the Y last week and am exercising in the pool. I'm looking to get in the water 2-3 times a week...not so much for burning calories but to strengthen my knee. I haven't had any fills yet...so far I'm not looking to eat between meals and I am doing OK sticking to around 1,000 calories daily so my dr. says to leave everything as is for now.

@gowalking thats great the big 40. We are doing really well. :D

So I weigh myself every Tuesday, and today I did it...I'm down 51 lbs..that's the most weight I have ever lost doing any diet...don't mean to sound braggy, but I'm proud of myself :) How is everybody else doing?

That is friggin' awesome! Brag all you want...you deserve it. I'm doing well. 54 lbs. down so far. No issues either thank goodness. I'm heading to Florida soon and can't wait to do some shopping. I'm waiting till then because I live in NYC and the cost of clothing is so high here. I don't want to spend a whole lot because I'm still losing but I can do Walmart and Target, etc. down there. I've dropped several sizes and have been able to get into things that have been in the back of my closet for years. Very exciting. More important, I'm off one of my blood pressure meds, and have gone from 60 to 20 mgs. on the other one.
