Oooo I know how you feel. Its my Second day post op and I woke to a sore sore tummy. And a raw throat. when does all this gas go away? the throat is from the breathing tube from surgery and ice cold sf Popsicles help a ton. All things considering this isn't too band. Hello new life.

1fitmama13, my surgery was Monday and my throat is better today, I finally passed gas in the middle of the night. Sorry that sounds bad but reality is that is what you want. Today the gas doesn't seem as bad, but now each incision site is letting me know it is there. So it is one day at a time.

My throat still hurts. My back and neck are the worst. I don't know if that's normal but I wanted you cry. I also feel nauseous and want you go back to bed. Passed gas yesterday and today did it feel good. Sorry if I grossed anyone out. It hurt but felt good at the same time.

Gmasdolly- my throat and neck both hurt pretty bad yesterday as well. All I want to do is sleep too, but can't get comfortable. I'm passing gas now, a lot and your right it does feel so good. All that you are feeling is normal from what I can tell. I'm not sick, but hurt! Hang in there!

I can't believe how this month has flown!!!! It's been awesome to see all the new bandies, and I'm still patiently waiting for mine on the 29th. So thankful for the friends I've already made through this forum. No one understands our struggles the way others who struggle with their weight. Thank you to all of you for your openness, your compassion, and your time to share. Blessings to you all!

So I am 6 days post-op and I am so proud of myself. I just walked up and down my sloped driveway for 20 minutes in this frigid weather. I bundled up and off I went with the dogs following :P (all four of them).

It's been a looonngg time since I have felt motivated and energetic enough to do anything in the middle of the day other than take a nap on my day off.

I can not believe how great I feel being 6 days out. I was so nervous I would be down for awhile. Very pleased with my results.

:D

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
