New Years Eve Surgery!!!

I'm so excited to start my 2013 banded!!! I can't think of anything I want for Christmas because I hope that I won't even wear the same size socks in 3 months!! LOL!!

Any words of advice for a new member of the banded life?

Hello I'm from San Antonio and I was band on 11/2/12

Monday is the first day of pre-op..."courage" & "will power" thoughts to all starting. If you think about me, will you send some my way too?

Congratulations! That's a pretty exciting way to bring in the new year! Good luck!

first off.... congratulations. What a wonderful way to start a new year... with a new life.

My advice to you is' date=' take it slow and don't expect to wake up skinny. For me the first few month were not good only because i expected to wake up skinny. And when it didn't happen, i immediately thought i fail at yet another attempt at losing weight. But, i did learn to embrace every loss... no matter how small... it all adds up in the long run.

Start an exercise plan as soon as your doctor permits Start with baby steps... i stated by signing up for a zumba class... then i did elliptical and then started weight training.

Pay attention to what Your doctor tell you to do... Not anyone else. Every LB patient is different and every doctor tell his/her patients different things to do and don't do. Join a support group NOW...

All the best.....[/quote']

Thank you! This is great advice. I'm so excited and egar to see results. I will be patient. :)

Hi Vsoriano78. Congratulations! How are you feeling now? Any results? :)

First of all congratulations!!!! It was the best thing I have ever done for myself!! Dec 4 was my band date:

Word of advice that you will hear all over this site which is key: FOLLOW YOUR DOCTORS ORDERS. It is imperative! There is a tremendous a lot of very good information on this site, but always consult your doctor first.

Lets us know how it goes for you!! Congrats on your new life. ;)
