December 13, 201213 yr I'm so excited to start my 2013 banded!!! I can't think of anything I want for Christmas because I hope that I won't even wear the same size socks in 3 months!! LOL!! Any words of advice for a new member of the banded life?
December 13, 201213 yr Congratulations on your upcoming Band date! Best advice I could give you is to learn all there is to know about the band. Starting here is a great place. I hung out here for 7mths before my banding and I learned more here than anywhere else. Also I'd start practicing LB rules, so you can be use to things before surgery. Try different Protein shakes, so after surgery you have something you like. Post often and ask all the questions you need answers to. BeeHealthy

December 13, 201213 yr The straw is one of the much debated subjects here. My Dr said no straws, causes to much air into stomach, but as you'll find all Drs are different.LOL Does your book talk about "Bandsters Hell"? Never heard that one until I came here.
December 13, 201213 yr Congratulations! This is a good sign for the New Year. What city? Im in Houston. I'm in San Antonio. I'm still waiting for insurance, but I have faith everything will work out.
December 13, 201213 yr first off.... congratulations. What a wonderful way to start a new year... with a new life. My advice to you is, take it slow and don't expect to wake up skinny. For me the first few month were not good only because i expected to wake up skinny. And when it didn't happen, i immediately thought i fail at yet another attempt at losing weight. But, i did learn to embrace every loss... no matter how small... it all adds up in the long run. Start an exercise plan as soon as your doctor permits Start with baby steps... i stated by signing up for a zumba class... then i did elliptical and then started weight training. Pay attention to what Your doctor tell you to do... Not anyone else. Every LB patient is different and every doctor tell his/her patients different things to do and don't do. Join a support group NOW... All the best.....
