The # 1 Lesson I Learned from my Band

There have been several lessons learned obviously...... but overwhelmingly the # 1 lesson I have learned from my band is that my life doesnt revolve around food. Eating is no longer an "experience" its just filling a void which I need to survive. I am not saying I do not love food. I love to cook, entertain, plan family meals.... it is just so different now... I no longer care where we eat, I don't look forward to holiday meals for the act of eating food, I don't care if I like what someone is bringing to a picnic or other pot luck event... its just food. And I don't eat enough of it to care.

This became evident when for the hundreth time in the past 2 years my husband said... lets go out to dinner... where do you want to go? I was like I don't care.... I got the typical eye roll action .... so I said... its not because I do not want to decide...but because the food just isnt important so pick a place you would like to eat and I will find something on the menu for me. He finally got it....

For me this has been a key factor is becoming a thin person...

Wow, I really like that! You took words right out of my head!!!! It's eating out of necessity, nutrition to live...instead of eating out of excess or luxury. Same feelings that I will eat what I can eat, not a race to the restaurant. I love this feeling!!!!

I remember only wanting to go places if I could eat something "good"! The hardest part has been wanting to eat. Its all in the head! I still struggle with it but its getting better!

Today, I went at 12:30 with a friend for some Chinese food, had some Soup, got full, left feeling so wonderful knowing I'm in control. It's 8:00 tonight, still very full, so Protein shake and off to bed soon.
