Your Last Supper......

Recommended Posts

The only thing I can't eat is raw carrots. To be truthful no need to have a last supper. Most will be able to eat favorite foods after healing from surgery, just less of them.

My "Last Supper" will be next Thursday (12/06) and the only thing I think I may want is an egg sandwich. Can't think of anything that I'm really going to miss having and based on the previous comments I won't have to. Maybe a trip to Hooters for wings and beer between now and then. We'll see...

Oh wow! I guess my last supper would have to be 2 or 3 cheeseburgers and a basket of fries. For dessert, a huge hot fudge sundae.

I can honestly tear through all that food and still be hungry. I definitely won't miss that feeling!

My last supper is still a long ways off...but I've already got it planned! The hubby and I are going to road trip to my favorite restaraunt, Maggianos in San Jose. I'll be having the Veal Raviolis and at least one Grasshopper Martini. This will be followed up by a trip to the tequilla bar a few blocks down. Should be a good night :-)

My surgery was five years ago, so I don't remember what my last meal was. But I do know that if you are getting ready to start your pre-op diet, I'd drink pop and eat sandwiches.

WheneverI was going to start a "new" diet, I'd go out for wings, figuring that's a massive no-no! Besides, I'm from Buffalo, NY and eating wings is like eating french fries, common.

I'm scheduled for January 23rd. I will be starting the pre-op diet on January 9th. My last few meals will be nuclear wings from Atomic Wings here in NYC and drunken noodles from my fav Thai spot near my office. I loooooove hot and spicy food, but my nutritionist said pepper can irritate the band so I shouldn't have much of it after I'm banded :((

You may find you will tolerate spicy food just fine. Just wait until you are healed, eating normal foods and in the green zone and feeling completely normal...

I had 2 types of Pasquale's Pasta (can't remember, it was spinach something and something with seafood) and 2 slices of cake. It was really good and now I don't even crave this stuff, nice isn't it :)

An excellent topic...and when I thought about my "last meal", I honestly cannot remember what it was. I only recall that we went out for dinner at the small restaurant we like located on the other side of the lake that we live on.

I guess that's a confirmation for me of how your beliefs about food change when you make the choice to live a "bandster" lifestyle. As a self confessed "Chocoholic", I've discovered that chocolate no longer has the appeal for me that it once did.

I'd have to say that both physically and emotionally, I'm in a much healthier place now!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
