Experiencing My 1St "stuck" Episode

Ok I will make my 1 month on Nov 4th. Today I ate broccoli casserole and I'm not sure if something is stuck or what but this is a pain I have not felt before. It kinda hurts to breath and there is a lot of discomfort in my rib. Don't know what to do

Had my first episode on Sunday with a piece of toast. I couldn't breathe and thought I was having a heart attack. I just paced around the house in a panic. I was scared because it was just me and my 4 year old daughter at home. After about 2 minutes of gasping I started projectile vomiting. There was no control. It just flew out of my mouth. I will chew every bite a million times now. Also, I think things with too much bulk or density are not going to work for me. Maybe ever. Lesson learned hard.

You just have to remember to chew until you have true mush before you swallow. Take your time and wait between bites. I chew really well, but have a hard time waiting between bites. It really takes a lot of concentration.

Been there done that and NO FUN. Note for future, many people have difficulty eating bread so you may not be able to have toast.

Not the most low fat way but I can handle toast buttered and toasted on both sides in a skillet and toasted, can't do bread raw though, no can do, no no no.

PBing is called Productive Burp. It's when well kind of like throwing up. When I get stuck I salivate' date=' slime and finally start PB'ing or bringing up food, the feeling of like a burp but only food comes up without trying, does this make sense? And yes sometimes it results in me finally throwing up because I'm gagging at the sight of it all. During a stuck episode some people salivate excessively, pass a slime mess or thick spit, gross I know but true. Hope this helps. Not a pretty sight but it's what happens.[/quote']

Thanks! That's a good thing to know!

Same thing happened to me!! Cinnamon toast, didn't chew enough but had never had a stuck feeling. I did like you, paced around the house, stood near the bathroom in case of vomiting, thankfully I didn't. Cereal with milk hates me too, I think it's the solid/liquid combo. Basically Breakfast time is Protein shake time, I just have to live with it.

Watch out for soft flour tortillas too!

If you are on real foods and can't eat solid food for breakfast, you need to rethink where you are with fills. I had pot roast and carrots this morning! You will never be satisfied drinking breakfast in the long run. Talk to your NUT about the foods you are eating so you can be eating things long term.
