COUNT ME IN!

I'm getting a fill on Saturday so this helps with the encouragement to stay on track!!

Hubby starts chemo tomorrow morning (they postponed it today because of a new development that caused the oncologist to change the chemo regimine they are using on him to one that requires more "in" office time). Every day is one day closer to the next 6 months being over. AND....if I stay on track....when he is done with chemo and full of energy again...I will look FABULOUSLY thin and healthy on his arm as we go take on the world! hehe

Love you all for listening to me!!

BTW....WELCOME WELCOME WELCOME to all the newbies it is wonderfull to have you as part of our group!!!!!!!!

That is AWESOME SkyeBlue!!! You'll both be in my thoughts!

So I have a question for all of you. I have my first consult tomorrow and was informed that I have to pay $250 for the consult and that's the only fee due. Other people from my state are telling me that it's a hidden fee and I should go elsewhere and that it's unreasonable. I don't know what to think. Is this unreasonable? Also the doctor is requiring two visits with a psych and nutritionist that she picks. Is this common? Any opinions would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Josette - My first consultation was $94.50, then I had a pre-op appointment which was $76.50. Thats $171.00. My follow-up appointments and fills are included in the price of the surgery fee for one year. I was required to see a psychologist and took a battery of tests, which cost about $400. Then I had to see a Pulminologist which was about $265. A sleep study (over night deal) was $3,600 and the resulting purchase of a CPAP machine was $1,500. The nutritionist was $100 and included three visits, on pre-op, two post op (which I never did). Then there was the visit to the primary care Dr and the mass amound of blood tests, which came to approximately $600. This was all BEFORE the surgeons fees or hospital expenses! I think all of mine came to about $26,000. *gulp* That was so hard to spend that kind of money on me! But I'm glad I did.. VERY glad!

Skye - My thoughts and prayers are with you and your man. With a sparkling attitude like yours, I can't help but believe that you and he are both going to come out of this with flying colors! I'm so proud of you, girl.

GFG Members - I'm glad you like the Spring Challenge! I'm looking forward to it as well. I really need to get myself back on track with Water and exercise!

And speaking of exercise, it's a beautiful day here in Boise, Idaho and Lmvilla (Linda) and I are meeting to walk along the river this morning. I know that Feels2Young2B40 and Kim_8 get together to exercise too. The buddy system is a great way to keep motivated. If any of you in the group live close by one another, get together and keep each other moving!

Love you guys and gals! Have a Terrific Tuesday!

Sure, why not? I am designing score cards that you all can just copy and paste into your posts. This should keep it simple for all of us to keep tally of our points. Any other comments or pics you want to put under your score card is totally up to you. I'll show you a sample soon. And remember, Tomorrow is the start of the GFG Spring Challenge! Woot!!:clap2:

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
