I hit it in four months. But 6 sounds about right. I lost 34 pounds in 2 months on Protein shakes and a light dinner salad before surgery (Aug6) And 24 pounds the last 2 months after the band.

Everybody loses weight differently, and remember its loss, not gaining. So everybody wins!.

i think it depends on the person also

a larger person like myself can lose more at the beginning then

someone who doesnt have (as much to lose as me)

i know it doesnt seem fair huh.

to me, as long as you are losing, it doesnt really matter (in my opinion)as long as you are losing....

so if you lose 50 or 100 or 5 by 6 months--its a success :)

Everyone is different. Some take a year to lose 50 pounds. I happened to lose that in the first 3 months.

At the end of the day, all that matters is that you're losing, regardless of the rate.

Yes I know- I'm happy to lose anything! haha.. just curious as to the average.. Whats considered a "heavier person" .. I was 253 at the start.. I just am gonig to be beside myself to see the scale start with a 1 - and was curious the average :)

I believe it depends on the person and how much they need to lose. I lost 22 lbs pre op.But I had 217 lbs to lose. Here is my abbrieviated weight tracker for your reference:

I hit the minus 50 lb mark today and i am about 5 1/2 mos out.

Wow good job

I lost 61 pounds in 3 months but I also started at 420. Just remember even if you only lose 5 pounds a month your still losing and not gaining! That's success in itsself.

I haven't gotten there....YET! I'm getting close, but I am just happy to be losing at all! I will definitely celebrate that -50 lb mark though!
