I was banded on wed' date=' I'm having trouble getting all my Protein in and Water?[/quote']

Yeah it takes time for that. Just do what you can and hydrate as much as possible. I found that sugar free pop cycles were easier that Water so do what you can and rest!

I got banded the 17th. I am not in pain, but still have air in my chest. However am not hungry at all, but am shaky... Any ideas on what I can do to eat? I'm having to make myself drink broth even though I'm not hungry, just need to gain strength... I can walk around just fine...

Chapstick, listerine strips. Hopefully you'll be home in a few hours after surgery so make sure you have gasX and heating pad ready.

I just have to say today I was allowed to start having mushies so I decided I was going to have some oatmeal. I mixed it with my Protein Powder and some skim milk. Can I say it was sooooo awesome. :)

10 Days until I am banded. What's a few things I should bring with me? Any advice?

I had to stay overnight so I loved having my own slippers along with some very loose pants to put under my hospital gown.

I also brought something to do before surgery, I was there at 8:30 but didn't go in for surgery until noon (something happend in the surgery before mine).

I wrote a blog entry about my experience with my surgery last week if you would like to read it. I'm pretty sure that I list the items that I brought along to the hospital as well.

You have to add me as a friend to view it, but that's just one click. Lol.

take a spare pillow to help you sit up,, and also to put next to your belly while you sleep,, it helped me sleep on my side,, otherwise i wouldnt have gotten any sleep :/

i love this group,, well i am16 days out and i go back to work on monday,, kinda nervous to see how that effects my eating cuz ive kinda got it down pat now,,

also everyone ive found these amazing books "simply to good to be true"

they are recipe books written by a lady who lost 70kg in a year just by eating whats in these books,, the recipes are sooo yummy and soo easy to cook,, each recipe even has the calorie and protien and carb intake chart down the bottom of each recipe :)

I was seven pounds heavier coming home from the hospital. I googled it, and it's apparently a reaction to the IV fluids and the body's healing process.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
