Having Trouble After Fill...

Recommended Posts

Just had .25 removed and feel SO much better. I still can't chug liquid, but I'm not getting stuck on it either. And I was able to eat some Soup without discomfort.

And I found out that I've lost 4lbs in 3 days.

Glad you are going to call. You should NEVER go without being able to drink or even eat a couple days after a fill. It's about getting to a full feeling after eating, not restriction while eating. You have to find that fine line. For me it happened immediately. Yes, I could eat more, but would then feel FULL and miserable.

Well, I am feeling a little jealous! I just got my first fill today, and I can't feel any difference. I'm supposed to be on clears for 24 hours, but I can just tell I can eat just fine. I ate some frozen soft serve yogurt, and a few other things without a problem. I can drink anything hot or cold, just like before. I have a 4 cc band, and he said he put 2 cc's in, which should have given me good restriction. I'm going to be so bummed if I have to turnaound and go back right away, especially if I have to pay him $165. Boo hoo.

Remember, you should be able to drink anything! And, you shouldn't even feel your band inside you! It is about making large bites hard to go through, not the small bites you are supposed to be eating. Any liquid, soft serve ice cream or yogurt should go through and are actually excess calories because they have no value. Unless you add something chunky to yogurt, it IS a slider! You need to be focused on how you get to wher the substantial Protein goes down and stays there for a couple hours.

Just got a fill to a full 6cc . Feeling a tad bit nauseated but I can get liquid down. I know the next three days of full liquids is what my surgeon advises (me too) but I really need to get creative...so far Isopure 40 grams Protein beverage, egg drop Soup strained, beef broth, two bites of sugar free Jello, a few sips of GNC lean shake. Oh yes and a Zofran for nausea...don't feel line throwing up but just a little queasy. This may be the make it or break it adjustment and I'm just not sure. Ill know in three days depending on how I feel on some mushies and regular food next week.

I meant to add... Hang in there but make sure you can drink. I don't like this feeling the first few days either. We will get through this...eye on the prize right?

Most people don't feel any difference withy heir first fill. For many it takes several fills. Don't be discouraged its part of this process.

Whitedobe, don't be discouraged. Liquids should not be a problem. Wait until you get to the mushies and then real food before you know how it is. You definitely do not want to be too tight. You just need to let your stomach settle before you test it with food. Good luck!

!st of all, no gulping, sips are in order, always. If your fill is significant, liquid will either get caught or sit there and drain slowly. But, also, don't eat too quickly after a fill; my own surgeon's office requires 2 days clear and 2 days full liquids after a fill. Drinking cold liquids can be a problem, but then you, also, said you are gulping it down, slow and steady! You might take longer to sip that Protein Drink than before. Best wishes. Karen

Thanks, guys! I went back Thursday, and he put more Fluid in my band. I may be a tiny bit overfilled, but I'm just figuring this thing out one step at a time. I'm going to hang tight for now and let everything settle down. So glad to have support.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
