I Feel As No Band Is There.

Recommended Posts

I got banded 9/4 and of course lost weight. I lost 14 pounds in eight days. I started working out but realize I am hungry all the time and grazing food here and there. It feels like no band was ever placed. I think I am going back to my liquid diet until I get my 1st fill. What to do, what to do....I did call for a fill but they only do them on Monday and were all booked up. My appt is for 9/24 for my 1st fill.

That is because you likely have little or nothing in your band right now. It takes most people multiple fills before their hunger is sufficiently satiated. In the meantime, be patient and try to stick to band sized portions and meals. It will come it just takes time.

I agree with Miss73. I felt the same after my surgery and I had days where I could eat a lot...but I had to drink Water in between meals to keep satisfied. Just had my first fill last week and had 0.5 cc put in. Now I feel more restriction...but still searching for my sweet spot! Keep up the great work, you can do it!

It took me 4 fills until I felt any restriction. I was able to eat almost anything and a lot of it. Now I have 7cc's and I finally feel some restriction. Things get stuck and really hurt if I dont chew well, and there are many foods I can't eat anymore. I feel like it is relearning all over again. Hang in there, it will come.

You got banded 2 days before I did ... I was told that you don't get a full until 6 weeks post op your bit supposed to be eatting regular food right now you should be at stage 3 which is purée foods .. Which Is thicker consistency than liquids .. Theres nothing in ur band and the swelling is going down from surery which is why u feel more hungry ... Doesn't your doctor tell u this stuff ? Just courious as to why ur already calling for a fill ? When u still need to get to stage 4 soft foods and stage 5 regular textured foods ?

Every doctor is different so listen to your doctor. I only had to do liquids for two days and mushies for a week. I could have gotten a full at three weeks or four. I opted for four and am scheduled a month out for my second but can get another at two weeks if I really feel I need it. My doctor has the most experience in Wisconsin and has never had a slip. Let's not pass judgement and encourage each other to follow Doctor's orders.

Every Dr is different I was on solids three weeks post OP even though i don't eat much and usually stay with softer food and with my first fill at exactly four weeks.. I say follow your drs plan and you'll do great!

All drs are different. Post op I was Clear Liquids for a week. Week 2 full liquids (smoothie). Week 3 mushies. Week 4 soft foods. I didn't get to "normal" food until week 7

Seemed horrible back then but it was well worth it

That is so weird! I got banned the same day and I get my fill the same as yours. I was just telling my friends that I feel hungry and my stomach growls from being so hungry .. I don't want to over eat so I mostly drink a lot of Water before a meal. I'm ready for the fill so that I will feel full.. let's hang in there together :)

Yes, all Drs are different, they would have given me my 1st fill within 2 weeks but I caught a bacteria infection so I was stll healing from that. I got my 1st fill today and said o go back in 3/4 weeks for another fill.

I got my 1st fill today but i asked my dr why I was so hungry, she stated the surgery was only to put the band with no fill. I lost 14 pounds the gained 5 back but now I have 5ccs so it's going to be alot better...how did your fill go??....I felt no pain whatsoever, I didn't even feel the needle go in.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
