My husband only complained of my snoring once in the last 3 weeks. :clap2:

He told me he hasn't had a decent night's sleep in years - except when I had lost weight. And of course that didn't last very long.l

I was banded May 1st, so I want to share my month with everyone. After a pretty uneventful surgery, I went home the next day. The second day home I started walking for a half hour each day and stuck to Clear Liquids for a week. I was never hungry for that week. Second week -- full liquids. Still no hunger. My incisions healed fine except for the one directly under my left breast........underwires and incisions don't do well with each other. :) ......I ended up keep a band aid on that one longer than all the rest. 3rd week -- I was back at work and I was suppose to be full liquids but I started on mushies because I WAS HUNGRY!!!!:hungry: and I didn't want to cheat by eating something bad. I found that staying busy kept the hunger at bay, so it was more head hunger than actually needing to eat. I had bumped my walking up so I was doing between 1.5 and 2 miles in 30 minutes. 4th week and I have transistioned from mushies to some regular food. I ate my first salad yesterday (with chicken -- ate the chicken first then the greens:) ) I am finding out that most foods don't both me as long as I don't inhale them. :speechles My hardest challenge has been to not drink while I'm eating. I still find myself sipping my Water in the middle of a meal. While it doesn't bother me now, I know after my first fill, it will. Speaking of water, I drink and drink and drink! More than 64 oz every day. :biggrin1: Exercise this week is up to an hour of either fast walking or doing an aerobic/weight tape. Those tapes kick my butt! But I finished the one I started today, so that was good. I've also been working in my yard a lot, lots of bending and stooping, pulling weeds, mowing, cleaning......this past weekend I averaged 5 hours each day out in the yard.

So where has this gotten me? Down 24 lbs since surgery, 30 lbs over all. And more importantly, I've lost 18.5 inches over my total body and dropped my BMI from 47 to 40. :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: I feel stronger and have so much more energy! And people are starting to notice. I'm not sure if that's good or not.;)

If you would like to see the difference, click on my blog (link in siggy) I posted some pictures.

Now......I would like to hear some of the other early May bandsters stories!!!!!!

Edited to add -- Drew's Lou, thanks for the description of your first fill. My first fill is next Thursday. It's good to hear from someone who has already been thru it. :biggrin1:

Hello May Band Friends,

I was banded on May 4th in Federal Way Washington by Dr. Srikanth. I am doing great! I did have a bit of a set back on Week 1 post-op Mother's Day weekend. I was hosting the family at my house and was busy getting things ready, like , Pulling weeds, cleaning the patio, gathering the spring dishes from the cupboard when I pulled the muscle that the port is attached to. BOY did that hurt. I have doing great with my Water, exercises, and NO sugar. I exercise 30-60 min each day. I always try to have my water down by 4 PM. I do my Protein Drinks one in the AM and one in the PM. I mix the powder with 2 oz of water and it is thick so it stays and absorbs better. I have not missed a day of multi-vitamins, Calcium, Vitamins D,C, effoxor, Iron. oh and don't forget the DOS stool softener. I have lost 24 lbs since I had surgery. I get to start mushie food on Friday. I am a little nervous. I am not even sure what I want to eat first. Any ideas? Through this whole thing I have been stressed with my dad being in the hospital. He has spent most of the last 5 months in and out. He has lost his leg. Has had septia poisoning, had his fistula rupture and lost three pints of blood, and has had two emergency surgery. I feel like I'm doing pretty good. I know the Lord has his hand on him and the family I'm sure with out our faith we would be all going crazy! I can't tell you how much I have appreciated the support from my friends here on lap band talk. The power here is great! I look forward to continuing the journey of our weight losses all together.

DeAnn

PS. Dad may get to come home Saturday! Praise GOD!!!

I've lost 6 lbs. this week since my surgery on the 23rd. Yea! I, of course, was hoping for more.... I have exercised some, walking, but the pain in my shoulder has kept me from doing as much as I should. I almost hate to say it - but I have not had that pain today. I did a lot yesterday and then today I was wiped out. I had a lazy day reading, watching TV, dozing, then came to my part time job. Usually when I get dressed my bra starts the pain in my shoulder. Tonight, so far, it hasn't. Maybe that will be done with!

Congratualtions all Mayers!!!:clap2: :clap2: :clap2:

I've been reading things about the "Magic Bullet" so I looked it up on the internet ... WOW~kind of expensive ($100 for 2 plus $35 S/H) on its official website:eek: or I can buy it at Walgreen's for $60.

I already have a food processor and blender ... can anyone tell me what I'm not seeing :noidea:... it just looks like a food processor/blender together, why is it so terrific?:)

Please advise.

Good luck to all in June on our journey. :cheer2: I'm going to my surgical support group tomorrow night ... can't wait to see them and to get weighed. Curiosity killed the cat.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
