About 27 Months Out

Recommended Posts

Had lap band surgery 6/2010 and I'm down 152 pound with about 20-30 pounds more that I would like to lose. I need a Tummy Tuck & breast lift (that I think my insurance will cover) and of course I'd love a thigh lift, arm lift.....and face lift. My biggest issue is reflux that just started a month ago....ugh!!!!

Generally reflux is a sign that you are too tight, you may need some Fluid taken out. It's really weird and I don't have the explanation but it seems to occur quite often 2 - 3 years out. I had the same thing happen to me earlier this year.

Great results! I am not even a month post op and hearing success after that time period is just what I need to hear... so many people you hear say that banding doesn't work at all but here I feel that it can be successful if worked and used correctly! Hope you feel a little better and way to go!

Wow! How awesome!!! I hope to be at goal within 24 months! Thanks for your story. It's great to hear success stories! I'm just 25 days post-op but these 25 days have flown by!

I had my last fill the first part of June 2012 & the reflux started about 3 weeks ago. It's just weird, it will hit 2....3 am, like anything in my stomach will "wash up". If this keeps up much longer, I'll call my dr.

Yes....I look pretty good....as long as I keep my clothes on!!! Most importantly, I feel so much better!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
