No Weight Loss In The Last 5 Days

Ok, I'm sure I'm being impatient, but.... I have not had "any" weight loss in the last 5 days. How is this possible when I'm barely eating an oz of food every few hours, and drinking Water & Protein Shakes? I guess I just don't understand how my body can be holding onto the fat. ARGH...

Granted, i was a bit..."bloated"... ok fine, constipated for 3 / 4 days, but I went yesterday, and still no weight loss today. Not even an oz. Just venting because I was really starting to see the scale go down... ;-(

Anyone run into this?

  • Your still in a Healing Stage hon. The first 6 weeks you should not focus on dropping but healing and adjusting. After 6 weeks you can start focusing on losing at least according to my doctor.

To answer your question, yes, EVERYone runs into this. I went into a little bit of a spin when the scale stopped moving. Did everything I could think of and nothing for about two weeks. Then I started losing again. I've been fluctuating between the same two-three pounds the past five days again.

All I can say is, as frustrating as it is and no matter how hard we try, sometimes our body just stops losing briefly. Don't panic, don't get frustrated, just ride it out.

Talk to your dietician! They really can help!

Good Luck!

First of all, are you getting enough calories in?? If not, your body may be in starvation mode, and holding on to everything....its an ebb an flow..i've never been a 2lb/wk person..always 6lbs one week, none the next type...lol

im sure you arent eating enough. i have about 1200 a day ... i will go sometimes for a week without any sign of losing and then it will drop about three pounds at once. Try not to stress over the weight loss, its more important for you to get into an eating plan that sustains you.The weight will take care of itself.

It's not holding onto fat, it's holding onto water. Most of our weight loss the first 30 days is water/fluids. Foods, medications, menstrual cycles(not me ) all play a part in how much water we bandsters retain. The most fat any of us can lose in a week is around 2 lbs unless you run a marathon a few times a week? Average after the first 3 months is probabaly closer to 1 per week.

It's very easy to add on 2-4 lbs of water in a single day depending on the foods we eat, sodium intake and exercise. So don't sweat not losing for 5 days. I went 3.5 months without losing but like another poster said, I spoke to my dietician and got my 3rd fill and I started losing weight again.

Also, remember to get enough sleep! We burn fat in our sleep so making sure your getting adequate rest is essential!

...speaking of sleep. Ive noticed how much better my sleeping patterns are now. i used to have so many nights without sleep i dont know how i could live like that.Sometimes it was like i was punch drunk. Did anyone else here have issues with sleeping?? sleep apnoea for example?/ i was never diagnosed but im certain that i suffered with sleep apnoea. its improving as i lose weight.
