Stuck? Heartburn? Woke Up Feeling Bleh :(

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone,

I'm almost 3 weeks post op. no fill yet. this week I started on soft foods. Yesterday I had some salmon and Cooked spinach (both of which I've had earlier this week with no problem). And then I had a little coffee for the first time...I know I'm not supposed to drink afterward :( I also tend to forget and eat bigger bites.

So then I felt super super full and was almost painful around band area.

That eventually went away, but still had a wierd full-ish feeling 7 hours later, but hungry too. I had a snack before bed...cottage cheese and a sugar free Jello. (oh and I was totally bad and had a cupcake sometime before that. I know, it was bad and I gave in to my fav from fav spot...I rarely even ate this BEFoRE the band...and at end if day, my total cals were still under 900 cals.)

Today I woke up with heartburn (I take prilosec before bed every night) and still that full feeling. I was able to drink some Water but still feel like I have food in pouch...and even maybe hurts a bit around band...in back area. I don't have a fill yet so I'm able to eat more than I probably should.

Should I drink some tea? Would that help with this gross feeling? Am I stuck? Is it for eating the cupcake? It all started after the salmon for lunch. Feel like I totally messed up with that cupcake and coffee after dinner. Sigh.... :-/

Thanks for any input!

Probably the cup cake ...there is a reason why they tell you not to eat certain foods. Drink something warm and hope it goes down small sips . You said you were totally bad but you only had 900 cals. Eating something you rarely ate sooooo why now?? Carbs from sugar will stop your weight loss cold after awhile. Just because you can eat it doesn't mean you should.

Eat to much, eat the wrong foods and you feel crappy thats just the way it is. You will find others who will tell you how to eat around the rules and the band and that a favorite cupcake from your favorite place once in awhile is ok. But thats after you have lost your weight not in week 3.

I use to eat every sweet that I could find after getting rid of that from my diet I could care less and if I do have something sugary now a very tiny little bit goes a long way . It really makes me shudder when I have had enough .

Good Luck!!!!

I

Thanks ladies! Yea, i don't know what I was thinking! After all I went thru with the one month of liquids and how it detoxed me from the carbs, I went and ate this dumb thing. M pretty disappointes in myself. I am swearing it off because it sucks to feel crappy like this. :-/

I sipped on warm tea this morning and it felt a little better. I'm having a shake now in small sips, and will continue with liquids all day.

Thanks again...guess I had to learn the hard way :(

Do mushies and liquids for 48hrs after a stuck episode as there is swelling and irritation and you need to let that go down before eating normal food again.

I always learn the hard way too! This all a learning curve and as long as I learn I don't get too hard on myself! Good luck the journey has just begun!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
