Who Has Lost Over 100 Pounds?!?!

Hi Everyone-

It has been on my mind lately to start a new post as a positive, motivational, and inspiring thread. I have noticed several threads lately where those considering surgery are asking if it is 'possible' to lose 100 pounds with the band. My answer to that is...Yes, it definitely is. Many say it is not realistic. But I have watched the amazing progress of LBT members on the board, and believe it is not only realistic, it is happening to many of our LBT members all around us. And for those that aren't quite there yet, many members are extremely close. As time goes by with lapband increasing in popularity and the number of LBT members growing everyday, I believe the list is only going to increase by leaps and bounds.

Any and all weight loss is a huge accomplishment for us all. While I realize that many members don't need to lose 100 pounds or more, many do. And for those who do, it offers not only motivation to see that other bandsters have done it...but most importantly it offers the hope that it can be done with the band!

This will be a running thread to offer positive motivation, inspiration, hope, and encouragement. Please PM me or post here to have your name added to the growing list when you hit 100 pounds lost, or if you want your amount lost updated. Congratulations to everyone on any and all weight loss!

I guess I should add my name to this list!! I had my surgery on 2-22-10 and I started at 300 pounds. Today, 4-19-11, I am 151 pounds... That's 149 pounds lost!!! :o My initial goal was to get to 150 pounds, but now that I am here, I am thinking that I might as well go for 13 more pounds so I can say that I have a normal BMI.

:success1: :drum: Drum roll please! Congratulations on a job well done!

While it is not all with lap band, my highest weight ever was 308 and today I weighed in at 207.4! I'm so happy!

How has loss of 100 pounds changed my life? Here are just a few off top of my head.....

  • I can go out in public and not be embarrassed.
  • I can wear bluejeans comfortably.
  • I can fit into booths at resteraunts and movie theaters without problems.
  • My legs don't rub together catching my pants on fire....:nervous
  • My nieces and nephews can sit on my lap, I never had one before.
  • I have more confidence in myself to get up in front of crowds now.
  • I can wear a seatbelt in the vehicle now (before it would not fit)
  • I don't suffer from severe depression anymore.
  • I have energy to exercise and do more outdoors things with my husband.
  • I can shop for clothes in my hometown instead of ordering everything from plus size catalogs.
  • The JOY I get if I pass someone I know who has not seen me in a long time and they don't recognize that it is me!!! :clap2:
  • My favorite...My husband tells everyong he got a new wife and did not even have to get a divorce.:kiss2:

See attached photo of how it looks.....

I just wanted to thank you for this list. I need to remember my goals and the gifts I will have when I've lost all my excess weight. I have lost 50 so doing well. Banded 2/7/2011. Going in for second fill tomorrow, Monday, 5/16/2011. It is already easier to do things with my children (5 and 6 yrs old), to get into booths, to have more energy, so I am excited about how great it will feel with the rest of my weight off. I love my band. Wish I had gotten it yrs ago, but wasn't ready then. I finally got it that I'm an addict and that I did need banding. I have hope now and realize I was never a failure, just an addict. :( I'm happy my kids aren't fat and that now their mom won't be either. Thanks for reminding me of all the 'goodies" I get from continuing to lose my weight. Gail in Ca. :)

P.S. : forgot to say that one of the biggest things for me is not sweating so much. Its gotten a little better, but know that losing the rest of my weight will really take care of that. I may even get cold! Ha I'm already less self conscious overall and when I don't sweat as much I will feel much better about everything. I want it all......a wonderful life! Thanks again. Gail in CA.

Whoooo-Hoooo! Annette! Congratulations! Thanks for the inspiration! Yay! I'm @ 50 and on my way to 150 lbs lost. So, thanks! Way to go!!!!

Congratulations Jess on your weight loss! Terrific! Inspiring..........:)

Currently down 112 pounds!

It's hard though, I feel awesome about and yet still conflicted.

I started at 478!

I would like to get down to 220-250. So being at 366 now, I still have 146 - 116 to go. Really almost to the halfway point and it's been 1.5 years since I was banded.

I joined a gym and have been hitting the ellipitcal like a champ. But just really want to reach my goal. :)

WOW! CONGRATULATIONS! :)
