Who Has Lost Over 100 Pounds?!?!

Hi Everyone-

It has been on my mind lately to start a new post as a positive, motivational, and inspiring thread. I have noticed several threads lately where those considering surgery are asking if it is 'possible' to lose 100 pounds with the band. My answer to that is...Yes, it definitely is. Many say it is not realistic. But I have watched the amazing progress of LBT members on the board, and believe it is not only realistic, it is happening to many of our LBT members all around us. And for those that aren't quite there yet, many members are extremely close. As time goes by with lapband increasing in popularity and the number of LBT members growing everyday, I believe the list is only going to increase by leaps and bounds.

Any and all weight loss is a huge accomplishment for us all. While I realize that many members don't need to lose 100 pounds or more, many do. And for those who do, it offers not only motivation to see that other bandsters have done it...but most importantly it offers the hope that it can be done with the band!

This will be a running thread to offer positive motivation, inspiration, hope, and encouragement. Please PM me or post here to have your name added to the growing list when you hit 100 pounds lost, or if you want your amount lost updated. Congratulations to everyone on any and all weight loss!

I just started this journey on September 2nd and I know I shouldn't be posting here, but I can't wait to be able to post here legitimately. You all are to be commended!!! I'll see ya next year about this time. :)

Congrats to all who have lost 100 (or more) pounds...I haven't been banded yet, but will look forward to getting my membership in 9 - 12 months.

You are all so inspirational! Who says people can't lose significant amounts of weight with the band! Not y'all!

ekat can you tell me what kind of band you have and the the size as well as everone else.

As of this morning, I am down exactly 100 lbs, less than 7 months post-op.

:crying:

WOW & Congratulations!!! :crying: What an AMAZING accomplishment. I cannot wait to be able to post that I have reached that same goal. At what weight did you start? What kinds of things did you do to get the weight off? Sharing ideas will help us newbies stay focused and on track to achieve the same goal.

Thanks!

My starting weight was 350. All I've done is follow the bandster rules. I don't drink when I eat or for 1.5-2 hours after. I take small bites, chew well, etc. I eat 3 meals per day and 1 snack, approximately 1000-1200 calories, with 70-80+ grams of protein a day. My doctor is very aggressive with his fills, but I prefer to keep my fill level on the loose side so I can still eat a normal meal. I don't believe in keeping myself so restricted that I can only have liquids or eat just a few bites at a time. I also don't drink calories. Generally speaking, I only drink water, with a minimum of 64 ozs a day. I exercise 30 minutes per day, most days. I just started exercising regularly in July and I wish I'd started sooner. I also try to avoid slider foods and I track calories and protein everyday. I allow myself occasional indulgences so when I want something, I just have a little and that has helped me avoid binges.

I finally reached 100lb about a week ago. For some reason, 100lb doesn't seem like as much as you'd think. Probably because I'm tall. Anyway, I'm happy. I think getting a TT would help though haha.

Jaime - how exciting!!!!!!! Good job! Are you going to be my mentor?

Of course!

SNT - I think it's a great idea for those who have already lost over 100 lbs to mentor those of us who WANT to get there...:smile2:

I'd love to have a mentor once I get my surgery date...or even before that!
