I was told I might have to do liquids 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after? Did you all lose weight with the liquids, before and/or after? And was it hard not eating? Seems like you would crave all the time?

I had to do 2 weeks before and 1 week after. I am in the one week after and i am not hungry. Next week i can have mushies. I am looking forward to that. The two weeks pre-op i was hungry pretty much the whole time and i lost 15 pounds. I did struggle. Post -op-op i have lost five pounds this week. But all dr are different with their post and pre-op diets. You would just have to ask what your dr requires. Good luck.

I had to do pre op diet two weeks before.

But ours was Protein shake for Breakfast and lunch.

Diner was a meal of meat, chicken or fish and veggie.

Two weeks after was liquids.

I could have many things like fat free popsicles, Soup (liquid only), fat free Jello, Protein shakes, applesauce.

Pretty much anything that was in a liquid form.

BUT by the time I got to mushies, I was so ready.

The Protein Shakes really fill you up, but YES there are times you get very hungry.

That does not stop after the liquid diet, you will still be hungry after that.

You have to dig deep and find the strength to get you through.

I had to do a three week liquid diet. The first day I was very depressed and it felt like I would never get to eat again and like I would never be happy again. I had that feeling on and off for the first week but it got better every day. My cravings were really bad for the first three days but I was amazed that they got very minor after that and when I crave I CRAVE!!! I lost thirty lbs during the three weeks and gained ten over the three hours of surgery ( they said it is normal) and I have not lost since but I am only a week out. Good luck it will be ok and you will do well. :)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
