Are You A Arkansas Bander?

Recommended Posts

I would like to find someone from Arkansas who has been banded. Who was your surgeon? Are you happy with your follow-up care and Fills?

I was banded Feb 2, 2012 by Dr. Wellborn in Little Rock. I have only lost 20 lbs so far. I really wanted to have lost at least 30-40 lbs by now. I have a 10cc band with 6.2cc so far after 6 fills. I go back the end of June for another fill. I hope this one gets me to the "green zone".

That great to hear. I did not not there was available in Russellville. I live in Russellville, but I travel to Little Rock to get my fills. Where will you go to get your fills? Are fills available in Russellville? This would save me some time and travel money.

Dr. Luttrell is now coming to a new satellite clinic here in Russellville. It is on Wednesdays. I don't know which Wednesday per month it is but I do know that he will be here this Wednesday June 13. It is behind Millard Henry Clinic in the Pope County Imaging building. I was really excited to be able to do it in Russellville also. I am tired of driving to Little Rock to go to the doctor.

What's his phone number? I would like to talk to them about doing my fills. Do you what the cost of fills are?

Banded Feb 20 in Little Rock by Dr Baker. I'm down 32 so far and I'm at 4.0 in a 10 band after three fills. Great to see people from Arkansas around.

I was also banded by Dr. Luttrell on the 30th, in Russellville. Nice to see someone on here that also used Dr. Luttrell. Hope everything continues to go well for you.

I'm from Arkansas, but I chose to go to Mexico and have it done. It was worth it!

Just celebrated my one year anniversary..Dr Wellborn in Little Rock did my surgery.I am very happy with him and his staff...everyone there with the exception of him..are banders!! They have all been down our road and make it so much easier to relate to.

I am now down 118 pounds and am amazed on how I have progressed!!

I also had my surgery in Arkansas. I was banded April 30, 2012 by Dr. Mark Gibbs. I've lost 55 lbs so far. Please do your research on all of these surgeons because I have heard that one of them has many malpractice suits against him. Good luck.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
