Hey!!

Checking in with my plication buddies. I had surgery on 5/29 and feeling much better today. Soreness is going away but I'm still super tired. How is everyone else doing? I know I am ready to stop drinking all my food!

I'm also day 6 and back at work. let me tell you i am TIRED. I miss my afternoon diet coke before surgery to be honest (oh well). I also miss taking naps at home for the last week LOL. My pain isnt bad. just some port/ab muscle soreness and some soreness at my belly button (i had SILS). oevrall i am not eating much, but i am just enjoying the fact that Im not hungry because i know it will change. i have a follow up on Thursday with my doc.

Glad to hear you ladies are doing well. Hows the weight loss coming along?

Bunnie... I am happy to report that I am down from 262 to 245 as of today. I had a 5 day full liquid pre op that I lost the first 8.5 on and another 8.5 since surgery last Tuesday.

I am wondering if I should be doing more? I've pretty much just done a little walking, a lot of napping and some reading/tv. My family is taking care of everything and telling me to just rest. I am slightly sore but thinking if I got out I might have a little more energy? Any thoughts?

I'm down a little more than 15 lbs so far (incl pre op). I am weary to post this because I know some people gain a little once we're really able to eat more "normal" foods. But still, I'm excited!

Congrats KAH! That's awesome... I'm am sure I'll gain something over the next week because I'm pretty sure I can't live on this few calories much longer! I'm not overly hungry but can finish 4 oz of soup or 5 oz of protein shake without a problem.

Oops hit send by accident. I was wondering if you are able to eat/drink much. I'm just wondering if the plication is working, I can't tell.

Congrats Kah! Everyone is different don't worry.. I'm still excited too. I lost 12lbs post op and I'm on mushies and have stayed the same- no loss. I'm still happy with that because it's still less than I was. I'm sure the weight loss will start up again. We can't be compared to each other and or feel some kind if way when someone else results are different from ours. At least that's how I feel. We are here for support for each other- good and the not so good! So with that said you stay excited and again Congrats!

Congrats on the weight dropped! I was tired with little energy too! It's probably because we are not consuming that many calories. A little energy is back now cause I'm drinking a full protein shake now and eating a little more calories. Still trying to get in all my water, it's tough but I'm pushing to meet my goal of at least 64oz daily. I'm still only walking as far as exercise, my Dr. Says I'm still a little awoken near my port (no pain there unless I move to fast) so just keep walking for now.

Yay! Shy that's awesome weight loss! Yes we all have our own pace and different starting points. I've always drank alot of water so that isn't hard for me but I feel like I can still consume a lot. Like I said a whole packet of oatmeal... Well almost a whole one, and all liquids seem fine in all quantities. Are any of you finding it hard to get food/drink in because it's too much to fit?

In the beginning it was very hard for me to get in a lot of anything. As far as the water I've always drank lots if it but since the surgery it's hard to consume as much as I used to. The faster your swelling goes down the more you will be able to eat/ drink. I can now drink my entire Pre made protein shake which is 11oz. It takes me about 20 min. If I make a shake and add my Greek yogurt and sf pudding with ice and unsweetened almond milk, I can only drink about 5.5-6 oz of that. When I'm eating my mushy meal depending on what it is I may eat a little over 6oz but not the full cup.

Well it sounds like we are about the same. I was just wondering because I wasn't sure if I was supposed to have that much at once! I keep reading on here that it's a learning curve... I'm trying!!!

I love that your family is taking care of everything and telling you to rest, great support system! I wish I could give advice but I am not having surgery until July because of my work schedule :( 20 lbs is awesome!
