Any Richmond, Va Lap-Banders?

After MONTHS of going through all the pre-op paperwork and appointments I am close to having a surgery date set, but I have a question for anyone in the Richmond, VA area:

If you have used Commonwealth Surgeons, what has your experience been like?

My experience so far has been incredibly negative. The staff are rude and abrupt and my case seems to keep getting passed from one person to another and no one keeps me updated on the status of things. After all I’ve gone through to get to this point I am actually considering NOT scheduling the surgery due to the poor treatment.

Any input fellow Virginians have would be most helpful – thanks!

If you are having that much trouble, consider switching surgeons or bring your concerns to the surgeon himself about that staff if that is your main area of the problem. I will be starting the 3 month pre op process next week so I can keep you posted on how it goes with my surgeon..

I'm not sure which group they are, it is my understanding that a couple of them joined together since I had mine done. I went through Richmond Sugerical at St. Mary's, the group you mentioned I think was at VCU. If you aren't happy look elsewhere, I did. Dr. Brengman was excellent and the staff as well. It is over an hour from my home, but I am glad that I made the choice. Good luck, the medical staff will very important in your success in this journey.
