Thanks for the ideas. whymomwhy - Is there any food you have had trouble with?

Breakfast - 1/2cup activia

lunch - 1/2cup wendys beef chili, 2 saltine crackers

dinner - 1/2cup baked turkey, 1/4cup veggies, 1/4cup mashed potatoes with gravy

snack - 1/2cup greek yogurt

My appetite was really bad today... I dont think I am eating enough.

I am going on a cruise tomorrow and will be back on Monday. I wish I could have had more time on solids before the cruise to try regular foods out. I am gonna have to chew chew chew. Have a great week ladies.

Have a great time. Just choose healthy foods and chew chew chew but enjoy as well! I have had no issues with foods yet so I am thankful I get a fill June 15th.

Ok, now that the gas seems to be rather under control (though I may do another dose of Milk of Magnesia tonight), I am moving onto mushies! I'm hoping if I get some Protein in me, I won't be so weak. Any suggestions for mushie Proteins?

Thanks ladies! I am in Miami now and getting on the cruise ship tomorrow afternoon. Thought I may as well pop in tonight. I am being very careful but I am allowing myself one "treat" a day on this vacation. For example when we dock in Key West I am allowing myself some key lime pie.

I feel like i am losing weight pretty rapidly and am STARVING often. Maybe i need to eat mre... Cuz I rarely eat an entire cup in a sitting ( i lose interest).

Sleepy one - I am not sure what your doctor considers mushies. It could be pureed food or soft foods. I started w/ Greek yogurt, chilis, anything ground/shredded in a crockpot with BBQ Sauce or Italian dressing.

Here is what I did today:

Breakfast - 1/2c Greek yogurt

lunch - 1/4c tuna salad, 1/2 banana

dinner - 1/4c spare rib, 1/4c salmon, 1/4c potato/veggies, 1tbsp bread pudding

you do love them fudgsicles Mrs. Finch! My husband makes these seasoned french fries and I told him he cannot buy them any longer, because they look toooooo good. No more french fries, or I may be tempted to try! hehehe (that's my way of being supportive, but true!)

Yesterday I had 2 Protein Shakes and ate 1 oz ham salad and 2 oz potato salad mushed up. I can now drink freely! Yahoooooooooooo

Thanks and enjoy your trip Natalie. I don't blame you for one treat a day. Good plan for a cruise I think. Thanks for the mushie ideas. I was even mushier than that, so I look forward to being able to eat your suggestions! Maybe I'll make that white chili, just make it mild!

Whymomwhy.. is haddock fishy? I know I need to start eating fish, but I'm not big on fishy tasting fish. It has to be very mild for me to tolerate. I was going to experiment with different types of fish, but do not even know where to start.

I do not find it fishy I was the same way will only eat Cod Scrod and Haddock shrimp is not bad either.

I bake it with lemon juice and it helps. I used to have to dip it in ketchup to eat it but now have no problem eating it

Thanks Mom, I will put that on my shopping list. I'm afraid to eat meat yet, but fish is rather soft, so I figured no time like the present to try it. Just because its been awhile since I had meat, it might just taste good!

Breakfast

1/4 cup cream of wheat

lunch

3/4 cup homemade veg barley Soup (I put it in the blender since the veggies scared me)

dinner

5 oz greek yogurt (now I see why ya'll eat a lot of yogurt!)

Dont think I hit 60 oz of Fluid, and calorie intake is still low, but I can't be sure whether or not I"m hungry or full. Wanted to try to get some chicken in after dinner, but I just can't do it.

I really never believed such small portions would satisfy, especially after that pre op diet when I felt like I was starving. I LOVE that 5 oz of yogurt really fills me up for quite awhile!

Hi all! Back in Miami from my cruise. Relieved to be away from the buffets, alcohol and cigarette smoking.

I did so-so with my eating. It was hard. Every day I had a treat - one day I had 1/2 piece of key lime pie in key west, another day 1/4 piece of cheesecake, and then another day 3 chocolate covered strawberries. I also had a glass of pineapple juice each day instead of a cocktail. I feel kinda bad for eating all that stuff but trying not to get down on myself. When I feel guilty it just makes me want to eat MORE.

I am proud of mysef for being active every day, walking lots, having only 1cup portions, eating Protein first and having no breads of fried foods. Before the band, I wouldn't gorged myself at the buffet ALL DAY and had 2 or 3 margaritas a day.

Why has this thread been so quiet?! How's everyone doing?

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
